Peterborough Duo Pass Medicals
Wednesday, 29th Aug 2012 18:11

TWTD understands that Peterborough duo Paul Taylor and George Boyd passed their Town medicals this afternoon as planned with discussions concerning their £2 million moves to Portman Road continuing.

The club are staying tightlipped regarding the situation but we understand that talks regarding personal terms are progressing but are not expected to be concluded tonight.

Meanwhile, Ryan Stevenson is continuing to talk to Motherwell regarding his permanent switch to the SPL club, but again that is now unlikely to be completed this evening.

The midfielder is understood to want to move on in order to play regular first team football.

I'm excited about the signing of a striker with long hair.

Bringing a bit of mid-nineties Serie A to Portman Road.

Boyd in same sentence as John Wark, only if "not fit to clean the boots of".

Why is it this is the point at which we all start to worry that the the deals will fall through just as they are about to sign like so many others. For goodness sake, someone take Clegg out for a drink or something so that someone else can close the deal.

Very positive news. Now lets close the deals. Boyd will add much needed quality to ou threadbare squad,
Now sign a further left back and a centre back . This would make us more competitive and less fragile but no more midget defenders.

At least Bullard's out of the way - no danger of him and Boyd deciding to stop off for a drink somewhere.....

All we now need to hear is that the deal has fallen through at the 11th hour!.....

Just done some calculations. Jewell has got rid of 16 players sine January, provided Stevenson leaves and maybe 17 if Ellington finds another club. This does not take into account the 5 loanees thaT LEFT DURING LAST SEASON EITHER OR THE OTHER 20 PLUS PLAYERS THAT LEFT LAST SUMMER. I would say there is much need for theses players and a few more, However you cannot turn the numbers we have and expect overnight results.

Positive if the two (+ a CB) sign by Friday
but suddenly half the first 11 will be new so negatively we're back to situation of probably having to allow time/games for the new faces to gell together with the others. Can only hope we win on Saturday = puts us well up table, then at least we've two weeks after that for team building to begin.
Do folk think the transfers mean ME has decided to let PJ see his contract through, at least?

.....and Jordan Rhodes what the hell are you doing?

This is good news agree with lanky but I'm cautiously seriously optimistic about this and I'm well happy Murphy looks to be on his way back and as its his last year of his contract we should get him on a free at the end of the season.

Good stuff, hope we get these deals, and Murphy, done. Still need a decent centre back though!

This makes for some entertaining reading.

Seems like a mixed reaction by the Peterborough fans and a chance to take a swipe at us. But then we would be saying that if any of our best(???????) players moved on.

Enjoy.

REally is the best bit of news to come out of PR since, well actually can't remember. Once again PJ has done what's asked, a left winger and a striker (ok not the type of striker we thought, but still a pacey one to get in behind). Have a feeling that a CB is also being spoken to somewhere, so if this comes off it really will be a good window.

Haven't seen Boyd enough, Taylor would be a good edition, however I question his goal record.

Another site says that Middlesborough are making a last minute attempt to take Boyd & Taylor from Posh! lets hope it's not true. get them to put pen to paper now Clegg - don't screw up again!

Couple of good players to get in although would question the price were paying and hope town can get a centre back before the window closes as we need one. Hope your wrong itfctim1974.

Stephenson....you haven't really given it much of a chance have you mate!? Especially seeing as these seasons down here are long and hard and we've got a thin on the ground midfield anyway...

Weird.

Hyam, Drury, Luongo and N'Daw....Yikes!
