Mohsni Confirms Town Talks Sunday, 9th Sep 2012 23:23 Blues target Bilel Mohsni has confirmed that he is to hold talks with Town regarding a move to Portman Road. On Monday, TWTD revealed that the 25-year-old would be spending the week training with Town.
According to a report this morning, the Southend defender was set to speak to the Blues about the switch today, a deal which would be an initial loan with a view to a permanent contract in January.
“I am waiting to find out what will happen and I'm due to hold talks with Ipswich soon, so I'm hoping something can be agreed.
"Hopefully it can be done quite quickly too because I want to be playing again,” Mohsni told the Southend Echo.
In addition to the versatile Shrimpers centre-half, striker or winger agreeing personal terms, the clubs would also have to negotiate a fee, something which may not be a formality.
Last month, Southend turned down an offer of £150,000 from West Ham, with whom Mohsni spent most of pre-season on trial.
The Parisian has a year left on his contract at Roots Hall but has been told he won't play for the League Two side again having failed to show for the start of pre-season training.
From Saturday, Football League clubs have been able to sign players on 93-day loans.

Walberswick - I certainly support your right to comment and the fact that your opinion will be different from most others, but simple blatant slagging off and snide comments really isnt going to make anyone take you seriously. If you have some constructive critism then put it in a manner that will promote discussion.

I just spoke to Shrimper Dave, who is an all-round good egg, and he has heard nothing of this from his end, but his first comment was "good luck with that!". So he'll either score a screamer or get sent off. He also added that he's everyone's favourite player. I'm completely on bluet123's side on this. The moaning is ridiculous. And I would add, self-righteous and pompous. As if we somehow have the right to be brilliant in all areas. Even in the good old days under Burley, there were lots of disappointments, quite a few signings that didn't work out (loans included) and if we're talking of nutters, we had Thetis and I seem to remember we all kind of loved him, even though he looked like he was going to get sent off more games than not, and he was not exactly good either was he? This guy does appear to have talent and if he signs, and if he is a bit of a loon, it'll make things interesting at least - I personally don't mind losing if we've all been entertained. At least sometimes. Finally, though I'm still not sure if Jewell is any good or not, it does seem possible that he might be assembling a decent team. And importantly, a decent squad. Or maybe not. But nobody can be sure just yet. Actually, that wasn't my final finally. The whingers, we're they Blackpool fans, would've certainly been slagging Holloway off last year. They would no doubt love to have him here now. Until his team loses a couple. Or he makes a signing that doesn't work out. I love my team, whoever is in it, and I love going to the football, and I am passionate and get cross and excited and impressed and proud and hacked off, just like you, but really we could all lighten up a bit. And smile. And enjoy supporting our team whatever happens (obviously unless Roy Keane is managing in which case it really is mostly gruel).

This guy could make an enormous difference to the squad (weak as it is) - agree with Sindre94 in as much that we don't want every player to be a nicety. He will need strong man management on several fronts- and that's where the problem could be. We don't have one. If we don't sign him (and I expect him to go the same way as many others, when he speaks to the 'bean counter' ) - someone soon will !!.

Lets not all start playing with each others pork swords quite yet, wait until we actually see him play. Sounds a lot like Manu Thetis, hard little buggar who could play and defend but liked a yellow card. Lets just hold judgement guys, and the same goes for judging Paul Jewell who I think is doing a decent job on half the budget Magilton/Keane had whilst doing a better job. Give the guy a break, getting rid of the manager and constantly calling for his head is the not the Ipswich way and long may that continue.

Talbs77 - you've described exactly 'why we are where we are' - and in all probability will continue to be so. And that doesn't fit at all well with ALL supporters - as is, and will continue to show with attendance figures.
