N'Daw in Starting Line-Up at Boro
Saturday, 15th Sep 2012 14:10

As expected, Blues boss Paul Jewell has handed season-long loan signing Guirane N’Daw his Town debut at Middlesbrough this afternoon. The 44-times-capped Senegalese international comes into the centre of midfield alongside Andy Drury with Massimo Luongo dropping to the bench.

Skipper Carlos Edwards comes back into the side for Jack Ainsley, who joins Luongo amongst the subs, with the team otherwise unchanged.

Boro manager and former Blue Tony Mowbray includes another ex-Town skipper Grant Leadbitter and summer target George Friend. Full match preview here.

Town: Loach, Edwards (c), Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Drury, N’Daw, Taylor, Martin, Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Hyam, Luongo, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland, Murray.

Middlesbrough: Steele, Hoyte, Woodgate (c), Bikey, Friend, Thomson, McEachran, Leadbitter, Reach, L Williams, Miller. Subs: Leutwiler, Jutkiewicz, Arca, Carayol, Zemmama, Hines, Ledesma.

Surprised to see Luongo drop but I'm sure N'Daw will do the job well.

You have had far too much time to sort out this team of yours Jewell, pack your bags and go.

For goodness sake just watched this rubbish lose again cant defend Cresswell and Edwards useless,no midfield, and up front only Taylor looked a player you people who back Jewell should hang your heads in shame.
The only way ITFC can go forward is get rid of him now before we go down

I don't like to jump on the 'Jewell out' bandwagon but i'm afraid i do agree that he's had a hell of a long time to turn things around now and quite frankly we're no better off than when Keane left. Next 4 games are massive now and they're not easy games...

Wolves (H)
Charlton (H)
Barnsley (A)
Brighton (A)

Sack the fookin board!!!
4 seasons of the same dross. No defence, weak upfront, now we have no midfield. It's beyond a disgrace what's happening. Stabilising the debt? Fine. For the sake of what we have to pay to endure? Far from fookin fine!!

I don't care how much of a stake Evans has. I want another option in there who'll buy or debt. Time after time poor decisions have been made at the top of the tree resulting in relegation dog fights and continually mystifying managerial and board decisions!!!

On another note, how the hell are we supposed to work on our defensive issues when we have two central defenders and one of them is on the other side of the world on international duty for days on end?

Wheres the 9 mil wickham cash? Why are expensive players allowed to leave on frees? Why are promising players leaving the club or being sold for a pittance!? Why can't we close transfer deals? Why don't players want to join us when given the chance?

Get out of our club Evans!

I'll give Jewell til' the first 10 games of this season, and he has now 5 left to start making improvements which I can't see happening. We saw somewhat more consistency from about January this year with a reasonable run with Drury and Hyam in midfield which saved PJ's skin but why does Hyam never seem to get a decent run starting in the team?
Defence unfortunately is still our weak point as it was at the beginning of Keane's reign, so basically we've got nowhere...the clock's ticking Jewell.
