Academy schoolboy Cemal Ramadan was on target from the penalty spot as the Irish U16s beat Belgium 2-0 in Dublin this morning.

The Blues youngster took responsibility from the spot 10 minutes before the break having been fouled inside the area with his side already a goal in front.

The victory and Germany’s 10-1 thrashing of Romania saw the Ireland youngsters win the four-team UEFA Development Tournament.

Ireland and Germany were equal on points but the Irish were placed ahead having won the game between the teams 1-0 on Sunday.

Striker Ramadan is one of this summer's new intake of full-time first-year scholars.
