Work is still continuing on the banners TWTD Message Boarders have been planning for the last few weeks.

The recent vote saw design B run out the strong winner, however, it emerged that a very similar banner has already been produced by another fan.

The upshot of various discussions was that a design should be put together involving a number of legendary players of the past and subsequently put to the vote. There’s an ongoing thread on the board at present here. Feel free to add your thoughts.

Meanwhile, the fundraising for the crowd-sourced project, which will cost around £500, continues with the total currently at £356. For more details and to make a donation, click here.

The "very similar banner" was known about before the vote was even put up, as it appeared in the designs thread and was the inspiration for the design that won the vote by a clear margin. For the few people running the project to just ignore the results because they don't like them, is totally unjust. Especially given the crowd-source funding! Very annoyed by this behavior. How do I retract my donation? Surprised that TWTD have allowed this to go on with their name attached to it.

DanTheMan added 10:25 - Aug 23 @mattelliot et. al We collectively all managed to forget to put it into the original news story. This was a mistake from us so apologies. We thought that instead of having two identical banners, it would be better if people were informed about our mistake instead, and to offer you a wider variety of choice in the form of a new vote. You will still be able to vote for the original design and we'll include a picture of the banner we already have in the story this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

SouperJim added 10:31 - Aug 23 To follow on from this, the news story above at the time of posting does not include all the information. Seems the "very similar banner" has been donated, so there will be a second vote with all the original designs plus some new ones. The idea being that people might not want to vote for the same designs now that the "very similar banner" will be on display. I do understand that putting something together like this is a bit of a thankless task and it is much easier to criticise than to contribute.
