Blues Amongst Clubs Linked With Motherwell Winger
Tuesday, 8th Oct 2013 18:09

Town, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Coventry are all reported to be eyeing Motherwell left winger or left-back Zaine Francis-Angol.

The 20-year-old Londoner started his career with Tottenham’s youth set-up, at a time when Blues academy director Bryan Klug was at White Hart Lane, before moving on to his current club in July 2011.

Capped four times by Antigua and Barbuda, Francis-Angol broke into the Motherwell side last season, making his debut in a Champions League tie against Panathinaikos.

Contracted until the summer of 2015, he is now a regular in Stuart McCall’s side.

Cresswell is clearly off in January, hopefully for £5m minimum so another young gun like this chap would be a good addition, although MM loves Mings so whoever he signs will warm the bench.

Worth a punt I reckon, sounds like a possible good prospect. At Spurs as a youngster so a quality grounding & Bryan Klug will know him. Euro & international experience will have helped him plus a regular now. We could defo do with a quick, quality winger & he can play left back, option if we lose Cresswell. Hopefully we can keep hold of Cressy for a long time as for my money he's our class act along with McGoldrick.
