Marriott Loan Extended
Thursday, 5th Dec 2013 15:20

Woking have announced that Blues striker Jack Marriott's loan has been extended.

Marriott will remain at the Kingfield Stadium until January 2nd with the Blues able to recall him at 24 hours' notice.

The 19-year-old, who has been offered a new deal by the Blues, has netted four goals in four games for the Cards, who play in the Skrill Premier.

Marriott told the club site: “I’ve loved my time at Woking and I’m learning a lot, so I’m happy to extend the deal.

I’ve played four games and we’ve won three of those and I’ve managed to score four goals too. Things couldn’t have gone much better there.

“I’d like to think that the Woking fans and staff can see that I can be an asset to them and I’ve worked hard to try and prove that.

“Obviously I joined them from a well-respected Championship club, so it was important I started well there and thankfully I scored on my debut.

“I want to make Ipswich look good and I don’t want reports going back to the club that I have shown a bad attitude or anything like that.

“Thankfully I have done well there and been welcomed by everyone. Now I’m happy to extend and the gaffer feels it will be good for me to play competitive football.”

He will come back to us a better player for playing games that matter. Under 21's SH1TE.

Don't get it. We need a goal scorer, neither Murphy or Nouble inspire.

This guy deserves a chance, else why have a youth scheme

@cromwellblue - he wouldn't play here (yet), he is playing there, it just makes sense

Phil, do you know why this new contract hasn't been signed yet? Or how many years he's been offered at all? Just hope he commits long term.

Seems like he has the correct attitude to make a living in the game

Good idea. Can be recalled if required. Sounds like a sensible young man.

A) I hope he signs that contract & b) I hope he spends all season their. At this rate he will hit 20 by May and the lad will be like a new signing come summer. Recall is important though, just incase!

Learning his trade. We should not expect too much too soon like Bowditch & Carson of late.
Still sterile up front...think Mings would be a better bet than Nouble up front but to give the lad credit he did work extremely hard on Tuesday night.

Funny a chap near me in Sir Bobby thinks Mings should have a run up front!

cromwellblue - ..... how any sane minded person could disagree with your post is totally beyond me.

A win against Blackburn and some people obviously think everything is fine - naivety to the extreme I'm afraid.

If Nouble gets more starts I am sure he will come good.

............ quite simply 'the offered contract' needs to be a good one - otherwise we lose another VERY promising youngster to a Club that will recognise, appreciate, and offer accordingly. Not rocket science - is it ?

So, asking for our own talent to play for us get -6. Subsequent posts want our left back to play up front instead if Nouble.
Don't think I'm the one with crazy ideas.

cromwellblue - agreed - just ignore it to the extent that you invite the minus's after you've made your point.

Like I've said before - some don't know the game. played the game, or know the first thing about it - so what can you expect ? But their opinion is as valid as ours on this forum - as it should be.

Probably get some fro this !!!! - but who cares at the end of the day ?

FAO Cromwell, I'm sure you know and have played the game far more than Mick McCarthy so I'm with you on this one.

He should be getting his experience here , what little he is getting at Woking will be of no use to him in the championship , it is 4 leagues higher and another world to where he is. The reason he Hasn't signed that contract is he is not being given his chance , while others continually disapoint up front if we lose out on another good young striker who else is there to blame other than the wonderful untouchable mcCarthy?

We are the fourth highest scorers in the division.

Oh well tomo , probably don't need him to sign at all then
