Swansea McGoldrick Bid Claim as Tunnicliffe Fulham Link Persists
Thursday, 30th Jan 2014 22:55

Swansea City are reported to be showing late transfer window interest in Town top scorer David McGoldrick.

According to Sports Direct News, the Swans are set to make a deadline day offer for the 26-year-old, who has scored 14 goals this season.

The Blues are said to have put a price of £4 million on the striker, who has 18 months left on his contract.

Meanwhile, on-loan midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe continues to be linked with a permanent move from Manchester United to Fulham.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Cottagers had made a joint bid for Tunnicliffe and his Red Devils team-mate Larnell Cole, who Fulham manager René Meulensteen worked with during his spell as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

While Tunnicliffe was watched by Fulham during his time with the Blues, it had been understood that their interest had cooled, however, unconfirmed reports this evening claim the 21-year-old and Cole are amongst a number of players set for deadline day medicals at Craven Cottage.

Tunnicliffe has been a regular in the Town side since joining on loan in August, making 24 starts and five sub appearances. He extended his spell until the end of the season earlier this month.

The January transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday, while Mick McCarthy's regular pre-match press conference is scheduled for 1.30pm.

This makes perfect sense, Swansea play a game that would suit McGoldrick. Ball to feet, quick passing, everything we do not do. Give him his dues, he has knuckled down and got on with it but you can feel his frustration at times, he has to drop so deep.
I think £4m for a player who cost nothing is good business, fans on here need to realise that EVERY player has his price and face facts, we are a mid table second tier team going nowhere fast.
Slaughter me for this....

Oh and Tunnicliffe to Fulham....why???? He is not the answer to their problems Im sure.

would absolutely love Nugent here Jimmy86 but we tried unsuccessfully to get him here on more than one occassion before and he is likely to be looking at a higher level than us.
