Berra in Scotland Squad

Town defender Christophe Berra has be named in the Scotland squad for their friendly against Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday 5th March.

The 29-year-old centre-half has previously won 28 full caps and has scored two goals, in addition to appearances at U21 and B levels.

Berra's central defensive partner Tommy Smith will not be involved with New Zealand in Japan during the international week having asked to be omitted in order to concentrate on Town's play-off push.

Deserves that. He's been a very solid signing for us this season. It's just a shame we have such a good left sided centre back in Tommy Smith that he has to play on the right side.

Was not happy when Manager split Smith and Chambers partnership to accomodate him especially as it meant playing Chambo out of position.
However he is a very strong player for us,and cannot now be omitted from team
Hope he does well on 5th March if he gets on.

He'll be tainted and corrupted ! There are three Norwich City players in the squad. I don't see how he won't be a much worse player when he returns.
