McGoldrick Players' Player of the Year
Wednesday, 30th Apr 2014 00:11

Striker David McGoldrick was named the Town Players’ Player of the Year at this evening’s End of Season dinner at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall. The 26-year-old netted 16 goals before his season was cut short by a knee injury in February.

Jonny Williams’s strike during the recent 2-1 victory over Derby at Portman Road was named the Town Goal of the Season, while Christophe Berra added the Boxholders and Sponsors’ Player of the Year gong to his recent Supporters’ Player of the Year award.

Daryl Murphy won the John Kerridge Memorial Trophy for the most improved player, manager Mick McCarthy having been the man deciding the destination of that award.

Right-back Kyle Hammond, who was recently handed a pro deal by the club despite having to spend up to nine months on the sidelines with a knee injury, is the Academy Player of the Year.

Earlier, a newly-shaven Paul Anderson picked up the inaugural ITFC Beard of the Year award.

If McGoldrick had not been hacked up by Blackpool players we would have been in the Play-offs at least.
