U18s Win at Barnsley to Go Top
Saturday, 4th Oct 2014 15:24

Town’s U18s continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-0 win at Barnsley this afternoon which took them to the top of the league, Monty Patterson (pictured), Ross Meldrum and Ed Ellis netting the goals.

New Zealand U20 international midfielder Patterson’s goal saw the Blues into a 1-0 half-time lead and schoolboy U18s debutant Meldrum and second-year scholar Ellis both came off the bench to increase the advantage after the break.

The result saw Gerard Nash's boys move to the top of the Professional Development League Two South on goal difference despite having a game in hand on the five sides behind them.

Town’s U16s did even better against their Tykes counterparts, beating them 8-0.

U18s: McDermid, Jones (Ellis), Emmanuel, Wolfenden, Smith, Walton Owen, Dozzell, Blanchfield (Meldrum), McLoughlin, Patterson (Ford), Ramadan.

Hope Monty makes it!
Such a great name, and I'm sure there would be a good chant
