blueherts, ME is no different to all the other owners. we owe him £80M plus so he cant walk away, he sees the carrot of parachute money and is gambling on us getting it without spending so he can then bail out. yes it will be another new team for next season, it always is and off we go again. funny though how so many good current players have passed through our hands to the prem; walters wickham begovic delaney mccauley colback townsend etc. if only we had kept them....

Since January, of all the teams in the top 10, we are the ONLY team who have been trying not to lose matches. Everyone else is set up to go out and win whether at home or away. Maybe that is all we had left, maybe MM has been too cautious, maybe the players are not good enough to set up any other way. What I do know is that in October/November we played just about the only free-flowing football seen at FPR in a decade......and then immediately abandoned the set up never to be seen again. Now that IS confusing and we will never understand why we did not revert to that esp when the wheels started buckling in Jan....the signs were there over Xmas for goodness sake.

Soccer is in the Entertainment business so I suppose it would be too much to expect from our one-dimensional stubborn manager a change in playing style as we pay hard earned cash to see negative and sterile fare? McCarthy has to account for the fact that after we made it back to 1-2, we did not muster one clear cut shot on their goal...and we were supposed to win at all costs against a team with one victory in 11 battling relegation..what a telling indictment on his hoofball philosophy. No doubt against top of the table, world beaters Blackpool he will play with Murphy up front by himself with the team packed with midfield dynamos who will carve out chances galore and we will attack for 90 minutes non-stop..

I think MM was pretty honest why he took the job , no one else wanted him and he wanted to work - he accepted the challenge , which was huge , considering he had no money I just question who would come to us , yes great club etc etc , with NO money to buy players . Unless it is an 'old boy' so Humes would be interesting and as an ex Academy guy knows the traditions ..
