Town Amongst Clubs Linked With Everton Full-Back
Wednesday, 15th Jul 2015 13:59

Town are reportedly amongst a number of Championship clubs to have enquired about Everton’s England U21 international left-back Luke Garbutt.

According to The Times, the Blues, Fulham, QPR and Rotherham are all keen on loaning the 22-year-old, who the Toffeemen are said to want to join a Championship club, despite interest from Premier League AFC Bournemouth and Swansea.

Garbutt, who recently signed a new five-year deal at Goodison Park, was with Leeds as a schoolboy but joined Everton’s youth set-up in 2009.

Capped by England at U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels, Garbutt has previously spent time out on loan at Cheltenham and Colchester. He has made eight starts and six sub appearances for his parent club.

Town are very much in the market for another left-back to compete with Jonny Parr, Tyrone Mings having moved on to the Cherries - who had previously been strongly tipped to sign Garbutt - for an initial £8 million last month.

QPR are likely to win this, they are willing to pay crazy wages.

Sign this fella on loan, move Parr to RB.
I see a lot of people wanting us to sign more and more players, but if you look at the quality we have amongst our squad, albeit small, we look very strong next year. Personally I'd like another CB cover, and a Jonny Williams.

GK: Bart, Gerkin
DEF: Parr, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Clarke, New LB
MID: Niles, Skuse, Bishop, Fraser, Tabb, Bru, Hyam, Ambrose, Connelly
ATT: Mcg, Murphy, Pitman, Sears

This would be a great signing. Pretty similar player to Aaron Cresswell. Hope we can pull it off but think right back's still more important to sort.

Yes please. Could Place Parr on the right and with the young upcoming defenders we have of our own would make a solid defensive line even stronger.

Would rather us sign players permanently than on loan.

Far too many loanees at clubs these days which takes the heart out of a team/club if you're not careful.

Don't mind one or two but more than four or five and things start getting messy.

Did you say we are getting Messi Lightningboy?

Mr Evans - is that your new formation for the season? We'll never be allowed to get away with four forwards at the same time. Rest of the team looks strong though.

News from PR in the next hour apparently. Signing imminent. My guess it is Volodymyr Kozlenko?
Good call by me if it is....

Not sure about another loan and it's a Right Back we need not a Left Back.

If Everton are serious about "progressing" LG then MM must be the best choice. His track record speaks for itself, Cressy, Mings even Smith (ok maybe not smith)

I think the two season loanees is enough. Maybe target Charlie Daniels from Bournemouth? Unlikely to play much now if Mings does well. Plus if you pay £8 million for a player you tend to play them!

More chance of me winning the lottery than Mick dropping Smith and Parr playing RB.

Said this yesterday would be a great loan for a season better player than Mings in my opinion .
Did Mings get injured last night only lasted 20 minutes or so for Bournemouth

No problem with a good loanplayer for a seasonlong loan when there is no recallclause. And really, what is the difference between a seasonlong loan and McGoldrick playing out his final year and going for free next summer..?
If you are opposed to seasonlongloans, then you should demand for the sale of McGoldrick.
Granted, I don't want the shortterm loansplayers who can be "lost" on a 24 hour notice, but to have them here all season, that is something completely different.

PJ is god- Seems unlikely, the chap you mention was apparently banned for using a mobile during a friendly, whilst on the pitch, doesn't seem like Micks type to me
