Dozzell and Hayes Win Caps in Defeat Sunday, 30th Aug 2015 17:52 Academy midfielder Andre Dozzell started and keeper Nick Hayes came on as a half-time sub as England’s U17s lost 7-3 to competition winners Portugal in their final game at the FA International Tournament at Burton’s Pirelli Stadium this afternoon. Dozzell, winning his third cap, having started all the previous games at the tournament, helped create England’s second goal, feeding Keanan Bennetts on halfway as they broke forward two-versus-one, the Tottenham winger moving it on to the overlapping Mackenzie Heaney, who scored. The 16-year-old, who scored in the 2-1 win against Turkey in the second match, went close to scoring on a couple of occasions, the Portuguese keeper tipping an effort over. Hayes was winning his second cap having started against Turkey. The 16-year-old came on for the second half of the 80-minute game with the score already 5-3 to the visitors.
