Double Break for Thorne Sunday, 8th May 2016 14:47 Derby County have confirmed that their midfielder George Thorne suffered a double break to his lower right leg during Town’s 1-0 victory over the Rams at the iPro Stadium on Saturday.
Thorne was stretchered off after a clash with Blues midfielder Jonathan Douglas as the Irishman sought to block a shot from the 23-year-old late in the second half.
The former West Bromwich Albion man is expected to be out of action for around three months.

Must be hairline fractures to be 3 months surely, if not you would expect 6 months out.

Broken bones are actually easier to treat than some ligament injuries. With the right treatment a fast recovery is possible. Most of the 'great unwashed' get the cheapest effective treatment rather than the best so the recovery time is typically much longer. Still, it's a nasty and very painful injury (from personal experience of a similar injury). I wouldn't wish it on anyone. You could tell from our own player's reaction that it was a serious injury with them rushing the physio and med team onto the pitch. I noticed they delayed - a bit of the Chelsea effect with them waiting for the green light to enter the field of play from the bench. I genuinely hope three months is true as it would mean he would start the season a bit late but will only have summer to rehabilitate. Get well soon Thorne - you'll always be welcome in Ipswich.

Feel a bit sorry for Thorne, as he has suffered from injuries, since joining Derby. Did knee ligaments just as he'd signed for them and now this. Get well soon

Clean breaks according to Derby, hence shorter than expected recovery time. As per other posts, hope he is back as soon as that.

12 weeks is pretty standard for leg breaks, unless they need pinning, etc.
