Injured Dozzell "Progressing Well" Ahead of Euros Semi-Final
Wednesday, 12th Jul 2017 10:56

Midfielder Andre Dozzell could win his fourth England U19s cap this evening when the Young Lions face the Czech Republic in their European Championships semi-final in Tbilisi this afternoon (Eurosport 2, 5pm)

Dozzell, who has started all three games at the tournament, was forced off by a hip problem in the early stages of Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Germany but head coach Keith Downing says the 18-year-old is on the mend and hasn’t been ruled out of this afternoon’s match.

“Andre Dozzell has an impact injury on his hip and but is progressing well,” he said.

Portugal face Holland, who finished second behind England in their group, in the other semi-final earlier in the afternoon (Eurosport 2, 1.45pm). The final will be played in Gori on Saturday

I hope they don't play him if he's still in any way doubtful. We could do without picking up injuries or making them worse ahead of the new season.

Good to hear the injury is not serious.
No harm if he rests up and plays the final.
Nice little boost for him and the club when he joins up with ITFC for preseason.

I'm more and more convinced this lad is the future of ITFC We just need someone to build a team around him.

Get the lad out on loan next season if you're not going to use him Mick. He needs to play regularly to fulfill his potential.
