Bartosz Bialkowski returns to the Town starting line-up for this afternoon’s pre-season friendly at Gillingham (KO 3pm).

Boss Mick McCarthy’s starting XI featured 10 senior players and midfielder Flynn Downes, who signed a new three-year contract earlier in the week having impressed the Blues manager during pre-season.

Adam Webster is in the squad for the first time having overcome an ankle injury but there's no Cole Skuse, who is ill, and Teddy Bishop, who has picked up a knock.

Emyr Huws (calf) and Tom Adeyemi (illness) are again not involved, while Luke Hyam is also yet to play a part in any friendly having suffered an ankle injury towards the end of last season.

Former Blue Lee Martin skippers the Gills, who are managed by Ipswich-born Adrian Pennock.

Bluebell added 14:46 - Jul 22 I am amazed that he is starting with Bru when he was told he wouldn't be needed this season and could leave. Surely it would be better using players that he will be using on a regular basis? Other than that the starting team looks good. COYBs
