Garner, Adeyemi and Spence Start Against Canaries
Sunday, 22nd Oct 2017 11:21

Joe Garner, Tom Adeyemi and Jordan Spence return to the Town starting line-up for this lunchtime’s live-on-Sky derby against Norwich City at Portman Road (KO midday).

Garner looks set to be part of a front three along with Martyn Waghorn and David McGoldrick with Adeyemi, who came through the youth system with the Canaries before making a handful of senior appearances for the Norfolk side, is in a three-man midfield with Cole Skuse and Tristan Nydam.

Spence comes in at right-back for Dominic Iorfa, who drops to the bench along with Grant Ward, while Myles Kenlock is out of the 18.

For the Canaries, Marco Stiepermann replaces James Husband at left-back following a groin injury, while Wes Hoolahan, playing in his 10th derby, returns to midfield for Marco Vrancic.

Town will be looking for their first victory over their deadliest of rivals since the 3-2 victory in April 2009.

Town: Bialkowski, Spence, Chambers (c), Webster, Knudsen, Nydam, Adeyemi, Skuse, Waghorn, Garner, McGoldrick. Subs: Gerken, Iorfa, Celina, Connolly, Ward, Sears, Downes.

Norwich: Gunn, Pinto (c), Zimmermann, Klose, Stiepermann, Reed, Trybull, Hoolahan, Maddison, Wildschut, Jerome. Subs: McGovern, Husband, Vrancic, Oliveira, Murphy, Franke, Hanley. Referee: Tim Robinson (West Sussex).

I will be very disappointed if there aren't chants of "who the f*cking hell are you" if oliveira comes on. All his trash talking and he isn't even playing, tosser. COYB time to finally beat them with that strong lineup

Correct to drop Iorfa and Ward both been relatively poor. Like the look of the starting line-up. Fingers crossed and we end the drought.

Got fed up watching it, Ipswich are so pedestrian going forward, no sense of urgency just hoof ball. If they continue playing like this Norwich will get all 3 points with ease. I have been an Ipswich town supporter since the 1960s and have never seen such a under performing team as this.

Adeyemi and many more need to take a sensible look at themselves, and remember they are better than this
