Monday, 18th Dec 2017 11:11

Midfielder Flynn Downes is expected to feature for the U23s when they take on Coventry City at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).

The Sky Blues are one place and two points ahead of Town having played the same number of matches.

In September at the Alan Higgs Centre, Coventry hosted the Blues and won 2-1, New Zealand international Monty Patterson netting Town's goal.

So what's the story with Downes considering numerous CM out and Bru in the squad, good enough or not yet? Could he do with a loan spell out?

Downes is good enough but with Skuse and now Connolly ahead of him in defensive role he's not getting a chance. Don't really agree with Bru ahead of him though as he wasn't in Mick's plans.
