U23s Host Leeds
Monday, 19th Mar 2018 11:25

Myles Kenlock, Aaron Drinan, Ben Morris and Ben Folami are all set to feature when Town’s U23s take on Leeds United at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm).

Gerard Nash’s side will be looking to build on Friday’s 1-0 victory at Bristol City in which Australian striker Folami netted the decisive goal in the fourth minute.

The young Blues are currently third in the Professional Development League Two South table, 11 points behind leaders Crystal Palace with two games in hand.

3 rd in the table, did not realise we were such a force in the development league.

i assume they dont play 3 holding midfielders with 5 behind them then a long ball schmack to a dwarf up front then?

46 goals in 21 matches, 3rd in the table... so how come these lads can't get a chance in our first team despite a goalscoring crisis and long injury list?

Exactly @Mark! very odd that isn't it??? (still can get over that the Dino most recently waited to the 93rd minute to put on Ben Morris?! ...and still no minutes at all to the "New Murph"?!).
But despite Leeds U23 being undefeated in their last five, and having scored a lofty 13 goals in the process ....I will still go out on limb here uhuu! by venturing a 'five'er' on us coming out on top tonight, cause as @Fergalsharkey also rightly concluded (and even though the ITFC U23 has been a bit too unstable results-wise lately with 6 defeats in the last 9) they sure as eggs is eggs don't play hedgehog with 7 to 9 defenders!!! plus when at home 'The Boys' appear particularly "adventurous" going forward by having thus far scored 3 or more goals on a majority of the occasions.

PS: On a completely different note, hmmm how come we have yet to see some TWTD version of the story / interview with Jordan Spence 'drawing the short straw' this time :-) lol :-) ???
I'm of course referring to this jaw-dropping "frank" morning piece by Andy Warren at EADT, where Mr. Spence essentially goes a bit further than both of the 2 most 'Proper Blokes" i.e. Chambo & SkuZzzey, and their unconditionally support of the Gaffer last week (who would seriously have expected them to have come out saying the opposite, ehhhh ??? lol), as Spence --- who of course much like Chambo & SkuZzzey with their new contracts (and strange new contracts imho, IF the Dino is not gonna be around in future seasons!) has plenty to be grateful about with Dino McCarthy as Jordan (who largely has been a positive surprise to me personally) was practically unwanted & unemployed before Mick "rediscovered" him -- had this to say about The Dino:

"HE'S IS FANTASTIC AT WHAT HE DOES!"

Hmmm aye Jordan, I actually agree! indeed he is! ....That is *if* only you had substituted that little word of yours 'WHAT' with the words 'THE NEGATIVE-LADEN DEEDS'! :-) lol :-)

It does make you wonder what the point of U23 is if the U23s are scoring for fun, but are not getting a sniff in the first team who seem to be unsure exactly where the goal is.
We only have one fit 1st Team striker and nothing to play for.
However saying that, if you have 5 defenders and 3 holding CMs then it may be better off if they do not play
