Klug and Williams Set to Be Caretaker Bosses
Tuesday, 10th Apr 2018 22:56

TWTD understands academy head of coaching and development Bryan Klug and former midfielder Geraint Williams are set to be put in joint-caretaker charge of the Blues ahead of Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Klug, 57, has previously been in caretaker charge of Town between previous managers, while Williams, 56, is an experienced boss having previously been in charge at Colchester United and Leyton Orient as well as the Wales U21s. The Welshman has recently been working at the academy.

Manager Mick McCarthy announced his departure from Town with immediate effect following the Blues’ 1-0 victory over Barnsley.

Thought that Klug might get the nod as caretaker. Means Nash and Lee can carry on with their teams until the end of the season.
Seem confirm the general opinion that the next coach is presently under contract somewhere. If Evans is really concerned about fans not renewing season tickets etc then I think that he would see Mogga favourably given his background here. I would be happy with that although still like Burley but he hasnt managed for while. Outside of those two Paul Cook would be good. Too soon for the Cowleys and not sure about their brand of football at this stage.........

Good luck, feel that's a great combination for now.

But we need a big Manager in the Summer and a Big Cheque book from Evans!!

Entertaining football please.

Was expecting MM to still be in charge on Saturday at Forest but now am glad he has gone as now I hope we can see a slight change in style and with those going we can all get behind the boys and have a better showing than we did last time (3-0 loss)

Smart move I would say and good luck to them and the team and hopefully means it's not McClaren or Pardew as both available immediately.

Really pleased that Brian has got the caretaker role. I have a lot of time for him. Be really interesting to see the team selection, and playing style, for the last four games.

Broskibeen:Didn't know how he did with the Wales under 21 squad;but he is the only manager to get Col U into the 2nd tier, and I think he managed to keep them in the Championship for a couple of seasonsAlso he was a player here,a midfield player like Cole Skuse, and also a similar goalscoring record as well !

He will also have Brian Klug with him,and from the players coming out of the Academy recently,I am hopeful that they will both do ok,and in these four games will be able to formulate a better opinion on some of the Players, which can then be passed onto the new Manager.

Bet the next home game will get a bigger crowd than the 13000 odd of us that were here tonight.Onward and upward (I hope)?

Looks like my mate will now renew;so a happy evening all round.

Up the Towen!!!

McCarthy has gone - forget him.

Let' get 100% behind whoever is appointed - and help then move us forward.

Might as well start with Crowe in goal because I doubt Bart will be here next season particularly if he gets a start in the team for Poland at the World Cup.
I just want to see some entertaining attack minded football rather than setting up for the proverbial point.
