According to the Daily Mail Sunderland and Wigan are now keen, while Southend United, Bristol Rovers and Peterborough United are also among the suitors and Wimbledon have offered their 44-goal record EFL scorer a new deal.
Taylor, who can also play wide on either side, started his professional career with Millwall but moved on before making a senior appearance for the Lions, having spent time on loan with Eastbourne and Croydon Athletic.
After a spell with Concord Rangers, the Londoner, who has won three caps for Monserrat, scoring three goals, joined Bournemouth in 2010.
In addition to his first league appearances, Taylor also had stints on loan with Lewes, Hereford United and Woking while a Cherries player.
In 2012 he moved on to Falkirk, then a year later joined Sheffield United before a loan spell with Partick Thistle.
Scunthorpe was his next destination before another loan at Firhill and then a permanent switch to Wimbledon in July 2015.
Since joining the Dons, who he helped to win the League Two play-offs in 2015/16 when he netted in the final, Taylor has scored 55 goals in 131 starts and 17 sub appearances in all competitions, 18 of those goals last season.
Meanwhile, former Town academy keeper Nick Pope made his England debut as a 65th-minute sub in last night's 2-0 victory over Costa Rica at Elland Road.
Soham-born Pope, 26, who joined Burnley from Charlton in the summer of 2016, was released by the Blues at 16 in 2008 when he joined Bury Town.

Sounds like a promising signing, scored 10+ goals the past three seasons. Will hopefully add a bit of flair, but cant take all transfer rumours seriously until hurst starts on 18th! COYB
Bit of a journey man, without doing much until very recently. Spent more time on loan than with actual clubs. Let Sunderland have him. I dont see much here to get excited about.
Far too many loan clubs for me. That rings alarm bells. Not sure what he may have that our other strikers do not. I think there are other areas of the team that we need to reinforce before strikers, although he can play out wide.
With McGoldrick gone we need a 4th senior forward. Waghorn & Garner are going to be the first team regulars, & depending on how the new manager sets out the team we may have 1, 2 or 3 forwards/strikers on the pitch at any one time, so Sears or AN Other will be required. Hopefully our younger prospects will continue to push on also & feature in match day squads - Morris will surely be getting league minutes. Taylor wouldn't be a bad option in that case and as Hurst will know him from League 1, I'm happy enough if he's happy to bring him in.
Surely we need to be aiming higher than this. At 28, he won't get any better (although may improve slightly with a different manager). Have watched him a number of times, and is good for that league, but not championship standard. Not for me - prefer a younger hungrier striker from the lower leagues
I don't think many can say they know enough about him unless watched, and yes it's only a video of his best bits above... However, it would be nice to take a punt on a striker who has an eye for goal but that looks to get in behind which we haven't really had.
i wouldn't necessarily write him off because he is playing at a lower level, often a player will raise their game when they are put in among better players so he may be able to find an extra gear if we gave him the chance to play at this level. some of his goals are top quality and i really do think he's worth giving a chance. it wouldn't be a too expensive risk and if didn't work out i'm sure there would be plenty of lower league teams prepared to take him off our hands if the deal was right so we would be able to recoup some of our losses but I feel it would be a well-calculated gamble.
Lets not forget where David McGoldrick was playing when we signed him. Admittedly he was slightly younger, but he made the step up ok and if it was not for the injuries who knows how things may have turned out. Only stumbling block is that Peterborough may be in for him too, so that's us out of the equation - he said tongue in cheek..
Surely now we appointed a new manager we must let him do his job Why are we being linked with players... And letting players go before manager has a chance to have a look
