Winger Graham Rejoins Town on Loan
Tuesday, 28th Aug 2018 14:32

Town have announced the season-long loan signing of Jordan Graham from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Graham was previously briefly on loan with the Blues in the 2013/14 campaign.

Reports in the Midlands linked Town with a move for the winger earlier this month after a switch to Wigan broke down.

“I enjoyed being here before but I was very young and it was a big step up from academy football to playing in the first team,” Graham told the club site.

""“I’m bigger and stronger now and feel like I’m in good physical condition. I’m ready for the challenge here.""

“When I got the go-ahead to say the deal was done I couldn’t get down here quick enough.

“I know Chambo and Skusey from my time here before and I know a lot of the other lads as well. That always helps to settle in.""

“It’s a big year for me and I’m here to make my mark. I want to score goals, I want to get as many assists as I can and I want to play my part in helping the team finish as high up the table as possible.""

“I’m buzzing to be part of it here and it’s a great game to start with, the derby on Sunday.

""“I got to know about the rivalry when I was here first time and how important the game is to the supporters.

"Ever since then I have watched the fixture on TV because it’s normally on live. Now I’m looking forward to be part of it.”

The former England U16 and U17 international, who represented the Republic of Ireland at U15 level, has been among a number of players not training with the Wolves first team squad recently, along with Dominic Iorfa, who was on loan at Town last season.

Graham, 23, spent a short spell on loan with the Blues from Aston Villa in late 2013 when he made two substitute appearances.

Following his short stint with the Blues Graham, who will wear the Town number 14 shirt during his second spell, moved on to Bradford on loan without making an appearance and then Wolves, who he joined on a permanent basis in 2014.

During what's been an injury-hit spell at Molineux he spent time on loan at Oxford and moved to Fulham on loan for the whole of 2017/18 but made only three sub appearances for their senior side.

In total since his spell with Town, Graham has made only 18 first team starts and eight sub appearances.

Despite Graham's lack of games, Wolves took up an option to extend his contract to the summer of 2020 in May, largely so as not to miss out on a potential fee if and when he is sold.

And there you have it : another pile of sh1te who was so awful when he was here on loan 5 years ago that we sent him back again, and he is Uriah Hurst's idea of someone who can kick-start our dismal season. Just bring back Jonathan Douglas and be done with it.

jeez how many more wingers and midfielders do we need. Strikers are what we need.

A big welcome to Jordan.Sincerely hope you make a difference.

Am i the only one not following the strategy the Club has embarked upon? The base of the team MM left behind was good. The youth was about to flourish and add a new dimension.A couple of good signings and a top 6 was a possibility, definitely top 8.I'm becoming more and more puzzled with PH & ME.

Let's see how this works out - my understanding is that he is highly rated by lots of Wolves fans - quick, direct, excellent end product - but been left behind as Wolves have recruited heavily and he doesn't fit into the new system that they play (which is possession based and less direct). None of us know how much money we have to spend and who is available - so lets just support Jordan, wish him well and hope that he adds something to our team. PH clearly likes playing wingers and whilst we have Edwards, I don't personally see either Ward or Edun as out and out wide players - so I can certainly see some benefit in having 2 pacey, penetrating flyers on either wing, supporting Jackson up front

New blood and fresh legs are always welcome but considering Hurst himself said his priorities were a centre half and a striker, this seems a curious choice. Mind you, we still have until the end of the week but it does suggest he is struggling to get his first choices in.

Not for me.

Massive injury in 2016.

Fulham hardly used him.

Oxford mate not impressed by 2015.

WANT the lad to do well, and will always gets behind any player though.

Come on lad, chance to shine :)

Glad to have another winger.
Tilt in next then leave the squad as it is.

We don't need a striker
We are playing 1 up front mainly so bring in a striker on loan to boost their confidence and lower our strikers confidence.
Once our strikers score they will be fine.

Breaking news!

As he arrived at the ground he was swiftly escorted to the medical centre. Like a number of new arrivals over previous years, he will be held hostage till someone pays the ransom!

Just seems strange that considering the stong pubkic statements about wingers when he first arrived it has taken until 28th august to land what i'm guessing will be one of his 2 first team wingers and potentially the same about to happen even later in the day with a day 1 targeted cb.

We need someone in his position so let's hope he can be the missing ingredient from our team!

2 pages of people moaning, what a surprise...

So I thought I would post something positive for those who would like to continue with optimism regardless of the results.

Lightening quick, skilful on the ball and sounds right up for it. Nothing to lose by this and all to be gained. I recall he had a spell at Wolves and was massively rated. If he scores against the scum, it's worth it! Anyone who has the desire to put a town shirt on and tear it up, will get a cheer from me.

Is this lad better than Ward or Roberts or Rowe..... would like to see Rowe given a run out if this is the best we can do.

Same for Tilt is he better than Woolfenden..... is he better than Chambers or Nsiala. Or as with Graham more very average cover.

Seriously! - what has he done since he was on loan here (2 appearances) back in 2013?...answer not a lot.

Not knocking the lad in any way but jeez, we don't need a winger if we don't have a goalscorer to put the ball in the net.

I know nothing about this guy but I have no reason not to trust PH's wisdom on this player. Let's hope he is a cracker!

More generally, I am sad to be writing this but I really feel quite embarrassed at the nature of many of the comments above, and in the last week from supposed Town fans. I consider this great club to have great fans but looking at the above I am wondering. I don't know if is just young fans posting comments, but many beggar belief. This is an exciting new era, with an exciting new young manager. We have new players, a new system, and it will clearly take time to gel. If it looks terrible in a couple of months, then it will be fair game to offer criticisms. But to childishly, and rudely insult and write off PH as some have above after 6 games astounds me. Get behind the team and support the players and manager!
