Ndaba Signs First Pro Deal
Wednesday, 20th Feb 2019 12:16

Blues youngster Corrie Ndaba has signed his first pro contract with club, a deal which runs to the summer of 2022 with Town having an option for a further season.

Ndaba, 19, joined Town's academy as a full-time scholar in the summer of 2016 having previously been with Dublin youth club Cherry Orchard.

A former Republic of Ireland U18 international, Ndaba plays at centre-half or at full-back having operated as a midfielder while in Ireland.

Ndaba has been a regular for the Blues’ table-topping U23s this season and skippered Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg’s side as they were beaten 1-0 at Coventry on Monday.

In recent weeks fellow academy youngsters Kai Brown, Brett McGavin and Idris El Mizouni have also penned their first professional contracts, while Luke Woolfenden, Teddy Bishop, Jack Lankester, Ben Morris and Harry Wright have signed further deals.

I've always loved Corrie, been a staple in our family home for years now, Ken Barlow is one of my favourite characters, closely followed up by Roy Cropper

Can't say I know anything about him, Woolfenden and El Mizouni are probably the ones I'm most pleased about signing from the youngsters (excluding first teamers like Lankester and Bishop)

The future's looking bright.

Despite probable relegation i'm already looking forward to seeing Lambert rebuilding us next season and league 1 may well be the ideal place to build a team with these promising kids.

Bring 'em on! PS: Paul Hurst was right about Lankester being one of the best of the bunch, wasn't he? I think PH would have been a good manager with a bit more luck and a bit shorter new broom. Still, water under the bridge now. We have PL, who has performed a minor miracle in transforming the atmosphere and creating positive vibes in a relegation situation. Don't think it will be all fun and games in L1, however. There will be some sides in there who are difficult to beat, and I would be very happy to make the playoffs. We might find it harder than many seem to think. But I ramble ...

Call it false hope but I think League One could turn out to be a fun adventure for all concerned! We need to put our faith in the youth and see where it takes us. I think Lambert gets that and I'm excited to see which ones really step up to the plate over the next season or two. There is a massive opportunity for some of these young lads to make a name for themselves next season and beyond. They might just be the answer to our prayers!

On another note went to watch Woodbridge play my local team Gorleston last night. A few Norwich fans were booing Carlos Edwards who I was surprised to see line up for Woodbridge. He scored a penalty so he had the last laugh. Woodbridge ran out comfortable 4 nil winners with all 4 goals coming in the first half.

Another fantastic youngster: having only watched the FAYC games this season, I have to say it's El Mizouni who's really stuck out for me, but hey, I'd rather have 5 more youth players stepping into the squad than having to sign 5 more loan rangers.

How influential has been PL in all these youngsters signing up long contracts. If in League One next season there could be some exciting sides put out by PL. Given some funds in the summer as well and with the right signings we could be in for a really good time!

Best of luck to the lad, but we need to make sure McKendry also pens a deal. Easily our best player in the U23 team.

Team building; club REbuilding going on before our eyes. This new manager sees that having a STAKE in the club is the starting point. You simply can't do this with short loan after short loan. I can see a FUTURE. At last.

When I first saw him along side Smith I thought at the time there's our future. He's bib and strong and looked very comfortable on the ball.
So many coming through and am sure our future is bright.
