QPR Again Linked With Judge
Sunday, 30th Jun 2019 11:07

QPR are again being linked with a move for Blues midfielder Alan Judge.

The West Londoners were claimed to be interested in the 30-year-old earlier in the month and, according to The Sun on Sunday, manager Mark Warburton remains keen, viewing the Irish international as a replacement for Luke Freeman, if the one-time Arsenal youngster moves on this summer.

Sheffield United are reported to have had a £4 million bid for the 27-year-old rejected, while Leeds have also been linked.

Warburton, who was Judge’s boss at Brentford, is said to be ready to pay £1 million for the Dubliner, who signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April.

It would be a huge surprise if Town were willing to sell Judge this summer with the January recruit a key man in Paul Lambert’s plans for the season ahead. Judge himself is settled at the club and has no concerns that League One football will hamper his international aspirations.

Nevertheless, it's understood the terms of Judge’s contract could open the door to a move to a Championship side if a club makes an offer at a set level, although this is believed to be significant, and the player was interested.

Even if Freeman is sold, it remains to be seen whether QPR would have much cash for signings this summer due to their well-documented FFP problems.

Elsewhere, both Bristol City and Millwall are reported to be set to bid £3 million to Barnsley for ex-Town striker Kieffer Moore.

If the 26-year-old does move on, the Blues would receive 10 per cent of the profit the Tykes make on the £750,000 they paid for the former Forest Green Rovers forward in January 2018.

Millwall are also reported to be readying a £1 million offer for Sunderland keeper Jon McLaughlin, although the Black Cats are said to want nearer to £5 million for the former Burton Albion man.

If the Lions do recruit McLaughlin that would certainly end any likelihood of a renewed move for Town’s Bartosz Bialkowski whose switch to the South Londoners broke down earlier in the week. Millwall, who want two keepers this summer, signed Frank Fielding from Bristol City on Thursday.

There comes a time to stop selling our better players and I think we have reached that point.

No less than £5m looking at the average players that are going for over £20m

Presume he wouldn't have signed a contract with us that would not have included a release clause. Not uncommon these days and if it was a contract with the clause or no contract, you can't blame Town for accepting the clause.

Sell him. Marcus can have a new yacht. We have a ready replacement in .....uhhhhhh a youth, or a league 2 freebie. Everyone's a winner. Getting tingles for the start of the season with how active our recruitment has been.

£1m? Well that will get you his broken arm. Another £4m+ for the rest of him.

This will really test ITFC 5 year or 5 minute plan and show how serious ME is about the club. Jury out on that one but evidence to date has not been that good ME!

Won't happen! He will much rather stay with us, fight for promotion in a very exciting season and be one of the best players in the league rather than play in a very average Championship side who will finish around the drop!

There is more asset players to leave.
Which ones remains to be seen.

Under the FFP limitations at the moment, I can't really see QPR being able to afford the set level in Judges contract regardless of the Freeman sale.

The only club to take the FFP rules as serious it appears, is ITFC.
QPR haven't in the past, and still don't.

This cannot happen. If he is sold how could any Town fan in their right mind back Evans?

How can any Town fan in their right mind back Evans, if Judge is sold or not.
Asset players are still to leave this summer.
We have many good players who would be in demand, who are under contract.
We also have players under contract who nobody would want.
Even if we paid another club to take them.

I appreciate this is only paper talk but it's the second time this has appeared over the last month so there must be some certainty in it.However this is certainly a good way to unsettle what appears to be a happy and settled player.
I somehow think this won't happen as we gave him the chance to recover from a very bad injury and I think he is a loyal enough player to honour his contract.🤞

If he goes I give up . He is totally pivotal to us getting promoted . ME has to weigh up spending another season in league1 or ŵorse or going back up to championship and the relative financial implications of both. He
will piss off PL big time if he consents to him moving

There is no loyalty in the modern game. From clubs or players.
If QPR or any other club offered enough money to selling club, and player.
The deal will be done. Simple.

Bluearmy81. Here u go with the same old diatribe against Evan's u put in every post on here. Unfortunately judge has a release clause in his contract, at his own request, which means that if any club meet that clause Evans has no choice but to accept the bid. And no, I'm not backing Evans at all. It's just a FACT.

Sale of Judge would be a betrayal to 12,000 season ticket holders no less than utter betrayal 🤔

There's been a few cases this summer, where a players release contract has been met.
Of course the players club then has an opportunity to show its intention.
This can be done with the offer of ripping up the current contract, offering longer on better money as an example.
I must say I said at the time Judge signed, make him club captain, build the whole club around him. ITFC decided to go with what has failed so badly so far.

Itfcsince73. Maybe you should take your own advice. If youd read my post properly ud have seen I was talking about the facts regarding this story. Which is my criticism of you and bluearmy. You just use it to slag Evan's off. And that's before anything has even happened. Just skagging him off based on a rumour in a paper that has not even been shown to gave any real basis in truth.

Blues1. I've no problem with Evans, as said many times. He can spend his money how he sees fit.
Do I like him as our club owner, very much no.
As for facts, release contracts don't work the way you suggest.
If a release bid is made, it's then upto the players club to accept or renegotiate the current contract.
Their is a certain striker in Spain who has a release clause in his contract, that is met every window. But he continues to play for A Madrid after every window.

Hopefully Alan Judge will be going nowhere but if he does we could always sign up Jonathan Douglas who was also a Brentford player and was a very influential midfielder when he was with us before.
