Kenlock Signs New Blues Deal
Wednesday, 17th Jul 2019 17:54

Town left-back Myles Kenlock has signed a new three-year deal with the Blues with the club having an option for a further season.

The Blues took up the one-year option on the 22-year-old’s previous contract at the end of last season but the two parties have now agreed a longer term stay.

Kenlock, who joined the Town academy from the South London-based Kinetic Academy having previously spent time with Crystal Palace, has made 56 senior starts and four sub appearances for the Blues.

Good going forward and hopefully will improve , but lacks positioning sense sometimes. Good for the level we no find ourselves at.

At last! Some good news. I like Myles and think he will have a good career.

He's one of our own instead of one of those loans!

Could we get Alan Hutton for a year? Free and 34 maybe willing to step down for a "big" club.... sure I'm dreaming and he'll end up at Hearts or something. A year for Emanuelle to develop and compete with him....

Interesting timing on this one, given the season long loan signing of Garbutt. Kenlock must have received assurances from Lambert as to his prospects of being in the starting XI. Might also suggest that Lambert has Garbutt in mind for left wing more than left back aa surely he was given some assurances of game time too. Both will expect to play.

Not sure he warrants .a 3 year deal. Has still got a lot to learn but maybe Division One will see him come on leaps and bounds.

Time will tell. At the moment he has n.o competition for the left back slot as Garbutt it seems will be used on the left side of midfield although if Kenlock is struggling then Garbutt can move back.

Centre back and maybe a striker on loan and we may see things happening.

To long a contract, if we go up we need a lot better than him,out of his depth in the championship, but should just about hold his own in league one,

I'm not sure about him. He does look good going forward at times but his final ball is poor. He also lacks pace so positioning is critical against faster wingers. However he does need to develop a good relationship with left mid and left CB which was difficult last season with so many changes.
Its down to Pl to set team up better so that there's a stronger unit in defence as season unfolds. Don't think he's got it sorted yet!

Agree with most of the comments on here good going forward suspect when one on one physically not very strong gets out muscled which cost us several goals last season two year contract would have been about right.

Not a massive fan currently, but hoping to be proved wrong. Does not work hard enough to stop the ball coming into the box and not convinced going forward either. Squad-wise we now look better going forward but no better at the back which remains a worry.

3 years with an option suggests we're preparing (not hoping) for a longer stint in Div 1. It'll be a scrap this season.

He's young enough to learn & get better with experience, give the lad a break.

I think the first photo is a candidate for a caption competition. Don't let me down, people!

Good for him , but really is a poor marker , saw the Sheff Utd game 2 seasons back where he failed to jump with the Sheff U striker , no challenge , allowed a simple far post headed goal , lost 1-0 !
