Harry Steps Down
Friday, 26th Jul 2019 13:12

TWTD’s regular pre-match coverage will be lacking HarryFromBath’s Notes delving into opposition forums during the season ahead with the site legend stepping down from his role.

Having started as forum posts, Harry’s Notes, which provided an in-depth insight into the opposition courtesy of their own supporters, were elevated to the news pages in 2013 and became an important and well-loved aspect of TWTD with a number of Blues legends giving them praise over the years, in addition to innumerable fans.

"With the heaviest of hearts, I took the decision a few weeks ago to step away from writing the previews for the coming season,” Harry says.

“This is primarily due to a lack of time, as work and other personal commitments have made it impossible to continue what has become a labour of love.

“It is an absolute privilege to support Town, and it has been no less a privilege to piece together the pre-match Notes which were always designed to help add to everyone's enjoyment when watching us play.

“In TWTD we are privileged to have a truly wonderful independent website and it has been a joy to contribute to it. “I just want to say the most heartfelt thank-you to everyone for your kind, supportive and insightful comments over the years.

“I cannot thank Phil and Gav enough for their kind and insightful support when producing the Notes. One can never stop loving one’s football team, and I will still proudly be supporting us throughout our League One odyssey.”

Phil and Gav would like thank Harry for his years of work on the Notes and look forward to seeing him next time he is at Portman Road.

Have greatly enjoyed reading the reports over the years and appreciate the time and effort that Harry has put into them. Hopefully time will permit the occasional edition, particularly for the bigger games but if not then thank you very much Harry for the many informative reports which I have enjoyed reading.

Thanks for everything Harry, have spent countless hours enjoying your balanced articles and the astute summarizing of fan opinions on players, tactics etc., they gave an insight into the mood of other clubs more than any other football writing I have come across.

Sorry to hear this but fully understand the time involved in compiling his very readable and insightful reports. They were a bright light in a very dismal last season. Thanks Harry and perhaps when we return to the Championship you will feel the urge to restart. Once again thank you to a club legend.

Another terrible, terrible consequence of relegation. It's no wonder H has stood down, who in their right mind would want to spend their time trawling the internet for the thoughts of Accrington or Rochdale fans.

Harry - you are a super legend and an essential part of pre-match preparation. Good things can't last forever but maybe, just maybe, one day when the horizon clears you'll give it another go? We sat together a few years back at Watford when we were hammered the whole game but won 0-1 when Richard Chaplow slotted home in the last minute. An ecstatic town moment! You introduced yourself (Harry) and told me where you were from (Bath) and I still didn't make the connection. I did note that you were suspiciously knowledgeable though, and the penny did eventually drop - too late for me to thank you in person for all those times you've brightened up my Ipswich week. Hope I get that chance at an away stand somewhere next season.

The highlight of the pre-match build up, often the only preview I read. Cant imagine how many hours were spent researching every one of them. Many thanks for all your hard work over the years, Harry. I hope you know how much you're appreciated by so many people.
