Sears Back Running as Recovery Continues
Wednesday, 28th Aug 2019 11:32

Striker Freddie Sears has started straight-line running as he continues his recovery from the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage he suffered at Norwich in February.

The 29-year-old, who underwent surgery soon after sustaining the injury, is making good progress with November having been pencilled in for his return to action.

“Freddie has just had his sixth-month review with a specialist and all went well,” Town physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“He is just starting to do straight-line running outside, which is the very initial stage of running for a player returning from this type of injury.

“He’s had no setbacks at all at the moment but there is a long way to go yet and it’s a case of taking things day by day.”

Come the busy Christmas period we can start with Norwood & Jackson up front, who will drag the defenders all over the place, and then replace them with the quality of Sears & Keane as they start to tire. All going well injury wise, with Judge, Huws, Bishop, Nolan & Lankester also fully back in the mix to supply the through ball, we should be in great shape, from a goalscoring perspective, for the second half of the season.

Good luck for your recovery Freddie and be great to see you back in the team, Good passionate player will add real quality to our front line hopeful PL will play him in his best position so he can score goals. As we head into the winter if all players stay injury free I can see us having a very good squad of player who will push us towards promotion. Key is staying injury free as we had too many last season surely we deserve some luck been a few bad years with injuries at key times.

If we can carry on as we've started. And the players out come back and stay injury free.
Then 100 plus goals and points is very likely.
Hope Ben Morris is doing ok....havnt heard him mentioned for months. Potentially a massive striker in the making.

@mojo: Fair enough, I thought Lankester was due back after Christmas, but if not that's a pity alright. Great prospect who will be more than capable of playing Championship football next season!!

good to hear ,he had a lot of stick when he was out of form ,and out of position, think he will make a big impact when he returns and hopefully can stay fit. He deserves to do well. Come on Freddie.
