Marcus Evans Branding Comes Down Monday, 5th Jul 2021 14:06 The Marcus Evans branding around Portman Road is currently in the process of being removed.
Marcus Evans logos have been on a number of the stands for most of former owner Evans’s time at the club, however, the one on the East of England Co-op Stand was pictured being dismantled this lunchtime.
Evans, who took ownership of the Blues in December 2007, sold the club to US investors Gamechanger 20 Ltd in April, although retains a five per cent stake in the new group.
We understand there are no plans for the Evans logos to be replaced by Gamechanger 20 branding.

I've heard is being replaced with Sports Direct logos and Ashley asking for stadium to be renamed to sports direct arena. Bet that got a few people thinking. So calm down as if could be worst that Marcus Evans

TractorBeezer... You need to brush up on the history yourself, matey! According to reports, there were other buyers and options open to Sheepshanks and the board. They chose to sell to Evans. I'll never forgive them for that and neither will a lot of Town fans. In my opinion, Evans proved time and again that he was part spiv and part idiot, with a healthy dash of ego thrown in... he was the worst thing that ever happened to our club!

So, SOOOOO glad that that menace Evans' logos are being removed. I don't think I could face travelling hundreds of miles to watch the boys play only to see that man's name and branding still lingering around the ground. Every possible reminder of that disaster's time in charge should be wiped from the face of the earth. Only then can we truly move on!

Excellent news! It feels like when the Soviet Union collapsed and all the Lenin statues were removed.

I would remind those slagging Evans off that the difference between him, the “3 Lions” and the pension fund is that it was his OWN money he put in, not other peoples and he walked away from practically all of it. He's also the largest individual shareholder, small stake or not.

RegencyBlue I see Marcus Evans' 5% stake in the club as a positive as it means that he has put people in charge that he trusts his own money with.

Evans gobblers still out in force!! He turned us into a joke club ffs!! A complete top to bottom reset was the only way forward the club was so rotten!! It feels like for some of you 14 years of underachievement and failure weren't enough!

Amazing really stick up a little bit for ME and the minus fingers come out. I was only pointing out if the likes of Mike Ashley had brought the club would people of moaned plus would have been a good chance the ground could have been renamed. Guy lost nearly 100 million and only thought of the club when it got sold and people still not happy. I'm past caring what people think on this site as unless you think same as everyone else the minus button goes mad. Never say anything good about previous owners managers or players is the golden rule. Never mind

"Only thought of the club when it got sold.. " Impressive, mind reading skills inferred!! It's like a fcukin cult! At least there was no mass suicide like in Johnstown... He turned us into a laughing stock and his tenure was a stain on ITFCs history.

Those making comparisons to Saddam Hussein and Lenin statues need to get some proper perspective. For the record, I am not an Evans lover. If you read my post properly, I said that he was bad for our club but I'm just saying if he hadn't written off the debt, where would be now? I'm glad he's gone but some on here have to turn it into a witch-hunt.

A stain on our history indeed. Thank heaven's he's gone. Let's move on and be happy again. It's been a long time coming.

Ringwood, If he hadn't written off our debt where would we be now? Stuck with him and visa versa. He had to to move on. It wasn't some sort of altruistic selfless act!!

Let's forget the Evans thing and focus on the future. With the business acumen of the new board, am expecting a bit more creative thinking about PR. With the Cobbold stand 50 years old now and naming rights being an option how about a 25 year deal in return for a rebuild of Cobbold and a Reno of the Coop stand so that the ground has a bit more coordination rather than 4 diverse stand system. With a decent roof the Coop could look like and join the Sir Bobby Robson stand and a decent new Cobbold stand could link the SBR and SAR stands over the corner blocks, including a new block for visitors bar. ‘Welcome to The Adidas stadium at Portman Road” Maybe it's a bit pie in the sky but these new guys have me thinking a bit more creatively….
