Police Appeal For Witnesses After Fan Hit By Object in Sir Bobby Robson Stand

Police are looking for witnesses to an incident which took place in the Sir Bobby Robson Stand ahead of Saturday’s game against Sunderland in which a teenage fan was hit by an object which had been thrown.

A statement reads: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was hit by an item thrown into a section of the crowd at Portman Road just before kick-off at the Ipswich Town v Sunderland match on Saturday 18th December.

“The incident happened in the lower Sir Bobby Robson Stand at approximately 2.38pm. A male suspect threw the unknown object which struck and injured a supporter.

“Anyone with information or video footage which could help officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Suffolk police, quoting crime reference 37/71757/21.”

As with all these incident there will be many witnesses. Will any do the right thing? Surely we have cctv footage and seat numbers . Can't be that hard

Having spoiled his matchday experience, I hope it isn't going to ruin his Christmas. Chin up young man, hopefully, you won't be too upset and will be able to laugh about it when you're an old duffer.

Saw the lad being walked down the steps between blocks 5&6 with a towel being held to his head. Horrible experience for him

There's something about going into a footballer stadium that turns morons into even greater morons, because they think they're surrounded by halfwits of a similarly low intelligence who'll find incidents like this amusing. If the degenerate responsible was a mate, or even a family member, they wouldn't be for much longer. It's all about doing the right thing.Too few are capable. Don't laugh with him... Shop the pr*ck.
