McKenna Nominated For Manager of the Month
Wednesday, 7th Sep 2022 06:00

Boss Kieran McKenna has been nominated for the August League One Manager of the Month award, the Blues having been unbeaten in the league during that time.

Town won four and drew one in the league during August and scored 11 times as they set the pace at the top of the table along with Portsmouth.

McKenna was previously nominated in April but lost out to Plymouth’s Steven Schumacher, who is also among those in the running this time around along with Sheffield Wednesday’s Darren Moore and Pompey’s Danny Cowley.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday.

Hopefully it will be the first of many this season.
A very talented coach who has brought the best out of this squad, so far.

Usually when we have a manager receive this award it goes wrong.
But McKenna deserves it.
We deserve it.
We will push on!

I've a feeling he's going to get at least a few nominations this season!

Well deserved if he gets it (which he surely must) and will hopefully be the first of many, culminating in promotion.

Well done ! The test for Town will be when we run into the likes of Portsmouth and Peterborough. Beat them and we have every chance of going up. Barnsley & Bolton were the quality teams we have faced so far and both were draws (albeit that Town were unlucky).

Would be good recognition of the work that he has put in. Another factor in his favour might be that this is his first managerial role most other things being equal......

This ITFC are habit breakers. Winning won't affect us, being on Sky won't affect us, never having won 4 on the bounce away didn't affect us.....and in any event I suspect McK could not give a stuff about any other award than promotion. This is the new and improved (over past 20 years anyway) ITFC and new habits are being made and thankfully they are generally positive ones !

No thank you. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it but why tempt fate with this poisoned chalice. Give it to Cowley or anyone else.
I'm getting twitchy about the up-coming Sky TV appearances given our abysmal record on live screened matches.

We finished August second on goals scored, so give it to Cowley. Let's aim for manager of the season

greatly deserved , the only downside is as others have said , it normally goes t#ts up afterwards, but certainly credit to KM, he is doing a great job, and has given us all something to be happy about. Long may he be successful at Town . If anyone can kick the curse out he can .

Got to stop worrying about curses and the like, at the end of the day he deserves it, we have done so well so far, we should not have drawn with Barnsley and therefore that only leaves Bolton, first game its fine just dont loose and we havent.

I am fed up of always having to say oh no we are going to be on telly and be rubbish, and oh no manager of the month now we are going to go down hill. If it is one thing i take from the now owners and our manager, its that the half ar*** way things have been done before and all of the old way of doing things and the thinking around it stops, we do things properly, and the fans need something to get behind and they have it, and are showing the backing too more than ever.

Its taken so long but its about time we all had something to be enjoying with our football club, so i for one will not be believing in silly superstitions and am enjoying the ride because its about time we had this and long may it continue because right now its well deserved.

I dont want this to come across as me having a go, thinking this way is easy i know because i have been there too, but for this great club to flourish again actions and mindsets need to change, the actions are there, and the player mindsets are too it seems, now just for the fans. Positivity all the way.
