Safety Audit at Bracknell This Week
Tuesday, 18th Oct 2022 13:02

Bracknell Town chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse says a safety audit will be carried out this week to assess the capacity for Town’s FA Cup first-round visit and hopes the two sets of fans won’t be segregated for the tie.

The Southern League Premier Division South side play at Bottom Meadow, Sandhurst Town's ground, which has a stated capacity of 1,950 with 250 seats.

Under FA Cup rules, away clubs can request up to 15 per cent of the available tickets.

Steinborn-Busse says that ideally there will be no segregation between supporters of the two clubs.

The match could well be among those picked for live TV coverage.

Interested to see what happens on this, Reading isnt far if they wanted to really cash in, but there's something very romantic about the minnows in the FAC and I suspect a big TV fee for the clubs coming anyway. I hope thye get permission to have it at their place, despite the fact we wont be allowed as many tickets if it went elsewhere

FA don't allow clubs to move ties these days.

This is probably a stupid question. When it comes to maximum attendance does that figure include media?

Phil does that include moving to the away teams ground?

BBC said the other day during the antsey/chesterfield match that they're only allowed to move the match for safety reasons, hope it is at their stadium even though we won't get many tickets

The match can be moved to the nearest suitable ground on safety reasons.

This could be Farnborough ( cap 7k) or Aldershot (cap 7100) although their owner is adamant they will play the game at home. If they get TV money and at least £20k for losing in the 1st round, huge payday for them.

Used to be £60,000 for a televised f.a.cup game on the bbc!
I hope it I'd televised and that they (bracknell) can make as much money from the game as possible!

Grumpy_Old_Man - I admire your early conviction that they will get 20K for losing in the 1st round. TV, Cup, ITFC?

Yes, that was really what they wanted to stop, I think.

This should be played at their home ground. It's their payday, not ours.
If we progress, we will have other opportunities to earn. Their need for money in the coffers is far greater than ours.

i was listening to their owner talking on Talksport, and the word is its likely to be on ITV 4 on the monday evening! Is our terrestrial tv record as bad as our sky tv record?

And they are more interested in winning the game than making more money from playing at a bigger venue!
