Blues Among Clubs Linked With Rak-Sakyi
Tuesday, 20th Dec 2022 13:22

Town are among a host of clubs linked with Crystal Palace forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic.

According to various reports, Town, Millwall, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday are all interested in the 20-year-old, whose spell at the Valley has a January break clause.

TWTD understands the Blues’ interest in Rak-Sakyi goes no further than the England U20 international being on a list of players who might potentially become a target in January.

Southwark-born Rak-Sakyi began his youth career with Chelsea before moving on to the Eagles.

Rak-Sakyi, who recently signed a Palace contract which runs to 2025, has made 20 starts and two substitute appearances for the Addicks, scoring five times, including the South Londoners’ first in the 4-4 draw with Town in October.

Knowing how Town operates we'll get a couple in who's names are not on the speculation list. Don't know much about this fella, but if he's better than what we have then sign him up.

It goes without saying..we will only sign players who are considered better than we already have.. otherwise what's the point !

All this talk is a Red Herring.Under this CEO we don't disclose potential signings until pen has been put to paper.

He looks like a boy and way too light weight to be able to handle himself against the Division 1 teams with their tough midfielders and tough defenders. 5 goals in 22 games is hardly tearing up this season and definetley not 20 goal a season form that so many on this forum seem to think we need this season.

I've seen him a few times this season and he looks impressive. I seem to remember saying prior to playing Charlton "keep Rak-Sakyi quiet and we'll be ok". It would be a big yes from me, although as we've all said before our business stays under the radar so it would surprise me to see it happen

Agree with others. We won't get advance notice of whomever we sign in January, but additionally, suspect any loans will likely have a purchase option included. The days of us improving players for others has hopefully gone away along with so many other bad habits built up under Evans. He may be decent, but unless he ticks all OUR boxes, then don't expect to see him at FPR.

We won't know until someone is signed.
Charlie Austin?

I had seen that Charlie Austin had left Australia early & wondered if we'd go for him. An experienced centre forward, who can lead the line & has been a prolific goal scorer for most of his career. Sounds exactly what we are in need of, & at 33, an 18 month contract might appeal to him.

I don't buy into the Charlie Austin thing I'm afraid. In my opinion we have enough to achieve promotion and should be looking longer term than a 33yr old looking for a final pay day.

Im afraid Charlie Austin's had his injury problems and the fact that he was plying his trade down under tells you a lot. But we do like to sign players that are injured who was that guy we signed from Plymouth the name escapes me.

Panutche cammara or something! Proper sick note! Don't think he has played a full league game or even featured! Can't comment on his play as never seen him in action

We don't sign players that have been talked about publicly or linked by press or agents. That's the way it should be. :)

Saxonblue: I want us to get up this season & if he helps achieve that then he'd be worth it. I too want us to be thinking longer term, but if the right player isn't available at an acceptable price I January, getting Austin in on a short term contract might be better business than signing someone like Ahadme on a 3 year deal. If/when we go up, our options & spending power increases for the summer window.

We have a whole team looking at potential signings every day of the week so lets just sit back and wait. Whoever comes in will have been watched for some time and will tick all the boxes. There will be no gambles with ITFC these days.

Churchmans. Really? He's a proper sick note? Hes had 1 injury which is still bothering him. The fact u think he hasn't featured at all goes to show the kind of fan you are.

Give me a nudge when the club announce it, MA almost never signs anybody we hear about in advance

Yeah Im with Blues 1 on the Pan Camara thing, we knew he had a serious groin issue that would take time to heal properly, KM has been very very clear that Pan is getting closer to game readiness at L1 level but needs more time to get that sharpness up. We've seen glimpses from him but he needs to build up slowly and not be rushed back too soon.
