Town in Loan Talks For Chelsea Striker Thursday, 15th Aug 2024 12:03 Town are targeting the loan signing of Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
The 22-year-old was linked with the Blues early in the transfer window with rumours circulating on the TWTD Forum earlier this morning.
The EADT reported that the Blues are interested in Broja and TWTD can confirm that discussions regarding a loan move are in progress regarding the £35 million-rated striker.
Slough-born Broja, who is 6ft 3in tall, moved to Stamford Bridge form Tottenham’s youth set-up in 2009.
Since then, he has spent time on loan at Vitesse, Southampton and Fulham, while making 11 starts and 27 sub appearances, scoring three goals for his parent club.
Capped by Albania at full level 23 times, scoring five goals, and featuring at Euro 2024, Broja had previously been linked with a move to Everton.
Premier League clubs are allowed only two domestic loans at one time, four over the course of a season, as well as six international loans, although with exemptions relating to players under-21.

He is someone I thought we should go for, just didn't think we could afford him.Would be a great addition. Now please go after Trevor Chalobah, currently surplus to requirements at Chelsea.

Beattiesbackpocket = the Encyclopedia of all things football! Szmodics plays attacking midfield or striker depending on the tactics, we do need an out and out forward though. Where have I said Ashton/McKenna have gone wrong?...doesn't mean they're going to keep being successful in the transfer market particularly at a higher level when there needs to be some quality. But yes Ipswich have had success as a unit rather than individuals so maybe he might fit into McK's plans but don't expect him to score a hatful of goals.

PL clubs are now refining their squads and those to go out on loan. This activity is to be expected as clubs and agents look for takers. I am more than content for our club to make the announcement when it happens. .

Need another target man so fits the bill. Another player who could benefit from Mckenna's coaching .

TimmyH. This won't be a signing instead of Szmodics. This would be the other cf we need, especially with hirst out. Szmodics will be signed to play behind in their number 10 role. But capable of playing up top too if required.

Though down marked you before reading your post :) I think you'll probably be right, who knows if either will come off, I'll be dead before Blackburn let him go.

Without being rude to anyone, I think we need a reality check here. There are 4 ideal aims for bringing a striker to a premier league club, as far as I can see: 1. premier league experience 2. a proven goalscorer 3. affordable (transfer, wages, loan fee etc) 4. a player who wants to be at your club Sadly, you can't tick all four of those boxes! We simply aren't going to get a 30 goal a year premier league striker who wants to come here, certainly not one we can afford! So, you need to find a balance. If this lad wants to come here, I say great, he's young, he has ability and it looks like we can afford him. We know we have coaches and a manager who brings out the best in players - let them work with him, let them coach him into becoming a consistent goalscorer. Trust the process. A reminder, we don't actually need a goalscorer who can bag us 30 goals this year. We need someone who can score 10-15 really important goals that get us enough points to stay up. Chris Wood scored 14 last year, I believe. That kept Forest in the league with contributions from the rest of the team.

I get the feeling that some on here moaning about us not signing enough players are also going to moan when we do sign players. The reality is that we were a big club in league one and even in the championship an attractive proposition.. 30,000 sell outs, good history, big plans. We are now not in that situation and won’t find it as easy to get the right quality when we are competing against established prem and top flight clubs around Europe. If a player is worth £50m they will have options in terms of club status and salary offers we can’t currently match. My only real disappointment with transfers was missing out on Philogene, who chose an established prem club, champions league football, a bigger salary and a club he knew well over us.. fair enough. However we’ve signed good players and if Phillips, Borja and Cajuste sign we’ve done very well.
