Muric Dismissed From Kosovo Squad
Sunday, 8th Sep 2024 13:06

Town keeper Aro Muric is one of three players to have been expelled from the Kosovo squad for breaking team rules.

A statement from the FKK, the Kosovo FA, reads: “By joint decision of the manager Franco Foda and the Federation, three players, Arjanet Muric, Edon Zhegrova and Florent Muslija, have left the national team gathering due to breaking the regulations of the national team established by the manager and the Federation.

“The FFK executive committee will decide on further measures against the players in question. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper who was on the waiting list, Faton Maloku from FC Drita, will join the team.”

Muric, who joined the Blues from Burnley this summer, won his 39th full cap as Kosovo were beaten 3-0 by Romania in Pristina on Friday.

The 25-year-old was due to join his teammates to travel to Nicosia to face Cyprus on Monday.

Here we go, typical Ipswich keyboard warriors! Muric was in Championship Team of year when Burnley were promoted, he has saved a Harry Kane penalty, saved a close range Haaland shot who has scored 7 goals already and is up for save of the month. Pickford let in 4 against Bournemouth and is England number one. As if Mckenna bought a duff goalkeeper. You moan about anything, we were in league one 2 seasons ago remember and we looked good against Fulham and the players looking gelled and Muric was solid and in first half against Liverpool. There aren't many teams who will go to Etihad and win if any.

We are supposed to be supporters so support and enjoy the season!

All the new signings give us a chance to grow in the future, whether we remain in the PL or are back in the Championship. That said, letting Hladky go was a tactical, cultural and commercial mistake. Hopefully Muric will settle down, but if not we should have great faith in Walton.

Criticise him if you want but I’d prefer to know what the facts are first. Even then I doubt it’s something that deserves eternal damnation. Perhaps broke a curfew? Something we all know Butch and those guys did all the time under Sir Bobby.

We don’t know what happened, so we are in little position to judge.

I trust KMc to sort out any disciplinary issues.

I cannot believe how many people forget just how much better Burnley were under Muric last season in the premier league when Trafford failed to impress.
One or two mistakes absolutely shaped falsehoods about this guy. It worries me that people did not view his stats for last season.
For context: He made 64 saves in 10 games. His PSxG GA is +6.7, which was the third best in the league, in 10 games! He's rivalling Martinez with those numbers. His shot stopping ability is brilliant. When he came in, Burnley only lost 4 of those 10 games. They may have stayed up if he was the #1 keeper instead of Trafford, even if I think Trafford has a bright future ahead.

On his passing, Burnley fans did warn us that he is a heart attack when passing out from the back, but it's not like Hladky made a few mistakes himself last season doing the same thing. I have no real concerns.

This news should obviously concern us, but we don't know the details yet, so nothing to say about it.

We should not have to wait long. I'd expect a public apology from him in the next 24 hours. Or an expression of belief that he did nothing wrong and to hear the Kosovan response to that. I also expect Walton to start at his old club next weekend either way.

He just looks a wrong 'un to me. Not the type of player that Town would normally sign.

Well I’ve heard he is already in trouble for driving offences in Ipswich already , let’s see if this comes out in the wash soon as well. Really not covering himself in glory at mo, being a very silly boy.

Not been the best start to his career as a Town player. Underwhelming in the first Three games, one excellent save aside and now this.
I’m sure KM and MA are fully aware of the circumstances already and I wouldn’t be surprised to see CW starting on Saturday against his former club. Muric may need to work hard to come back into contention as Number One choice.

in the past (not so much now)footballers drank, and Eastern European men REALLY drank. The combination must be coached out before disaster strikes and tragic stories like Gascione (sp sorry) and Tony Adams don't repeat. Tales of "Jet"and his mates being seen heavily imbibing in a local club when the team was floundering are still within memory. McK has not failed us yet so I suggest we hold our fire for a bit instead of projecting disaster

of course I do not know if it was a partying offense but it was implied by someone on the site that his performance against City may have been affected by such an event

He's probably earns more in a week than most people on here earn in a year and people are sticking up for him...think about it!

Some really strange comments on here. Look, you don’t dismiss (not suspend) a number of players for misconduct without there being some fairly serious circumstances. I know we all want this to end in a fairy tale but sometimes you also need to wake up and smell the coffee. Burnley fans seemed way too happy we’d sold him, he has not made the start we wanted, and now he gets thrown out of his national squad for misconduct. In McKenna we trust and he will know what to do.

Excuse what you want, as some will, and do !!
But this is not good for the Player, Club, his National Team - or the way to commence with his new Club.
Muric has much to prove now, as well as the Club’s judgement of him … !!
