Tuanzebe, Greaves, Luongo and Johnson Still Out, Cajuste and Others to Be Assessed Thursday, 24th Oct 2024 14:56 Axel Tuanzebe will remain sidelined until after the November international break at least, while Jacob Greaves, Massimo Luongo and Ben Johnson are also still unavailable, while Jens Cajuste is back in training and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Brentford along with other unnamed players, manager Kieran McKenna says.
Tuanzebe recently underwent hand surgery having cut himself while washing up, Greaves has a hamstring problem, Luongo an ankle issue and Johnson a thigh injury. Third-choice keeper Cieran Slicker has been out with a hand problem.
“None of them will come into the picture this weekend, there won’t be anyone, off the top of my head, new into the picture, who wasn’t available for Everton, and we’ve got a few issues we have to assess over the next 48 hours going into Saturday,” McKenna said.
“Jens has trained in the last two days, so we’ll have to make a judgement tomorrow as to whether he can be involved in the game and for how long
“Ben Johnson is still out. He’s got a small thigh injury. There was a possibility he could have made it for this weekend, but he’s not been able to make it. We’ll have to see how he is next week.”
Regarding the length of time defender Tuanzebe might miss due to his freak injury, he added: “It’s still rough, to be honest. He won’t be back before this international break, other than that, he’s seeing specialists and seeing what type casts can be fitted and when it will be suitable. It won’t be before Tottenham, certainly.”

LOL - I'm pretty sure our players won't give up as easily as a few of our fans seem to have already this season... We're going to lose a LOT more games this season, but that does not mean we're already relegated... xD

BUM. Greaves and Tuanzebe have been two of our better performers thus far.

Could be damage limitation on Saturday . We have signed players who are just not Premier league standard and are lacking fight. Who is this Cajuste bloke cannot believe he's a Swedish international how can anyone get injured when they don't put in an ounce of effort. We've got a goal keeper who doesn't talk to his defence at all and is constantly being told so by his captain must bring back Walton and most of last season's team to at least get a bit of spirit and togetherness into the team.

We aren’t in the relegation positions at the moment. We have virtually a new first team with some key players to come back. I’m saying we’re staying up.

So much for the Greaves 'picked up a slight knock' before the Everton game...and Johnson has a small thigh injury? (probably scared of playing after the West Ham game). It's amazing we're not in the bottom 3 thanks to Palace's and Wolves rotten start which won't last long.

Johnson and Cajuste might as well miss the whole season, would't make much of a difference anyway.

Unbelievable how negative some so called fans are? Are you secret canaries. We've made massive steps and need time it might not happen but give them a chance. Enjoy the ride and support our team. I know you obviously no so much more than kieran but unfortunately your not the manager.

Keep the faith people. It's not time to start getting negative.

Cadiar, people like that should be barred the site. It's supposed to be a forum for supporters.

Interesting that rolls and his fitness staff were moaned about at arsenal with their injury lists. Then we get to the same level and here we are with the same high volume of injuries. Coincidence or an issue with the medical team?

Unbelievable…We’ve been hacked by Norwich supporters….Most of these comments aren’t from true Town fans…They can’t be…..

Pathetic posts on here (typical of midweek posters) saying that the forum has been hacked by Norwich supporters or so called supporters!!...I've stated that slight knocks on a couple of players have turned out to be at least 2 week injuries (at least). We've had a great 2 seasons under McK and yes this season was always going to be difficult but feels like we're heading into a crunch part of the season where we could be cut a drift and with injuries mounting up I suppose we do need to keep our heads up but these little injuries on top of Tuanzebe's ridiculous but unlucky injury is not helping at the back.

I am looking forward to Brentford. Harry Clarke and Woolfenden will start. Phillips is improving. Moray is not suspended yet. Chaplin may make an important contribution. I also have a feeling that Hirst‘s season might get going soon. Jack Clarke can‘t possibly miss again. Delap is due another. Secret weapon Ogbene will do something amazing. Omari will curl one into the top corner. At least two assists from Leif. This has three points written all over it. The beer and pies will also be the best so far this season.

If this forces us to play established players who know each other and the way we have been successful at playing, more, then I think its a good thing. We are starting 7/8 new signings who are rejects from other Premier clubs, and dare I say, its not working out for us. Now, those players can be greater than the sum of their parts, as we have proven for the last two seasons, but it's not going to happen overnight. Against Everton, not one shot on target until.....Chapman came on. Then with him and Hirst in play, it started, just a glimpse, to be a bit like the Ipswich that wins. I say reverse that. 7/8 of our established team, drip feed in the new boys as they start to show they can work with the old boys. Maybe these fancy pants Johnny come latelys being a bit fragile forces the managers hand (no pun intended) to do that anyway.

Perhaps we could do with a bit more physicality ,for a start we have George at well over 6ft sitting on the bench surely he could be found a position with Delap also playing.Midfield is the key but so lightweight At least put three in there. needs must if we continue as we are we will get thrashed by someone like Spurs - I fear sadly
