Five Changes For Town Against Cherries
Sunday, 8th Dec 2024 13:09

Town have made five changes for this afternoon’s home game against AFC Bournemouth with Jack Taylor handed his first Premier League start.

The midfielder comes in for Jens Cajuste, who drops to the bench alongside Kalvin Phillips, evidently not considered ready to start following his ankle injury.

Cameron Burgess returns at centre-half and Ben Johnson at right-back with Jacob Greaves out of the 20-man squad and Harry Clarke among the subs, both having started against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Conor Chaplin comes back into the XI as the number 10 with Omari Hutchinson moving to the right with Sammie Szmodics on the left. Wes Burns and Jack Clarke drop to the bench.

The Cherries make one change from the team which beat Tottenham 1-0 on Thursday with Lewis Cook replacing Tyler Adams in central midfield.

Town: Muric, Johnson, Burgess, O’Shea, Davis, Morsy, Taylor, Hutchinson, Chaplin, Szmodics, Delap. Subs: Walton, H Clarke, Burns, Phillips, Cajuste, Al-Hamadi, Townsend, Broadhead, J Clarke.

AFC Bournemouth: Kepa, Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez, Cook, Christie, Kluivert, Semenyo, Tavernier, Evanilson. Subs: Dennis, Travers, Brooks, Ouattara, Hill, Unal, Billing, Aarons, Kinsey. Referee: Michael Salisbury (Preston). VAR official: Paul Tierney.

Good ! Firstly it’s pleasing to see Taylor meriting a starting slot ; he’s-been with us a while now and
IF there’s potential it’s time it was exploited / revealed — i hope he does well ! Secondly, given his outstanding performances ,it was puzzling to find Burgess ‘dropped ‘ ; guess there must have been good reason for KM is a very astute Manager !
JC obviously being carefully managed ,but KP’s situation is to say the least disappointing ; we could do well with his presence and knowledgeable commitment — come on KP ,’get there ‘ or go back !
ODD to know PRd car park only half full ; will the Council take heed and find some moral fibre ,or are they simply trying to mik the Cow ?

Agree with the Clarkes and Burns back on the bench and now all eyes on Jack Taylor, nowhere to hide. Really need to get something from this game preferably 3 points! COYB!
