Juve Eyeing Muric Report

Italian giants Juventus are reported to be keeping tabs on Blues keeper Aro Muric, who is on a season-long loan in Serie A with Sassuolo.

Muric, 27, has impressed both for the Neroverdi, who are 10th in the table following their promotion, and Kosovo this season, keeping four successive clean sheets in games for club and country in October, although none since then.

According to Tuttosport, Muric has been one of the goalkeeping surprises of the season and as a result Juve are following his progress carefully, along with that of teammate Tarik Muharemovic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina centre-half.

Muric joined Sassuolo on loan for the season in August with the deal including an option for the Kosovan international to move permanently for €10 million (£8.7 million) next summer.

Reports in Italy in November claimed last season’s Serie B champions are keen to secure a permanent deal in January.

Muric is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2028 following his £10 million summer-of-2024 move from Burnley.

Really happy to see that the loan is working out and now more higher profile clubs are becoming interested could open up a bidding war and we can get most if not all (and more) of the transfer we paid back

As we found out the EPL is just cynical. Muric found out the hard way, and was unlucky too. He had the most errors leading to goals amongst the goalies last season (despite only playing 18 matches), but at the same time he had 0 errors leading to chances (Raya had 9 errors leading to chances, but none become goals).

Unfortunate. I am split. He clearly has certain qualities, but it just seemed as if he wasn't backed, and was low on confidence. Probably the best thing to part ways, and as it looks we might even make a tiny profit.

Think we should either try and sell for a profit, or have him as number 1 next season. he has loads more confidence now than a year and a half ago and is a better keeper than what we have, i know he has made mistakes, but our other 2 haven't? there have been a lot of times this season where our keepers have made mistakes, but they havent been punished as its the Championship, not the Prem. i personally would feel more confident with Muric over Palmer and Walton

notoriousITFC added 13:56 - Jan 6 This guys is top of GK stats in Serie A. He's having an unbelievable season for Sassuolo so this wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone following. He would genuinely have a chance of being a good addition back in the squad if we got promoted but would fear the ITFC crowd wouldn't give him the chance.

Broadbent23 added 14:09 - Jan 6 He was World class in our Prem game at Brighton. Therefore if Juventus want him it would be a sensible deal to make and maybe get a £1m profit at £11m. Generally players only make a good match in a team if they are happy with all parts that make up the football criteria. (Manager+Squad+Club set up).

ITFCMatt, i totally agree with you but the ship has sailed here. A combination of his driving offences and the slaughtering from our fans means it doesnt fit either party, lets sell the guy on and move on.

Bazza, that is the issue we have at the moment, if a player doesn't hit the ground running, they're considered a waste of money in the eyes of some fans, last year was Muric, then Philogene and Clarke, this year its McAteer, Azon and Akpom. people need to learn that players cant just carry the form from their old club to their new one, especially when playing in a different country like Azon. but going from one managers style of play to another's takes some adapting, and what doesn't help is fans getting on their back straight from the get go

Imagine how he would feel to see these sort of comments on a post completely unrelated to him. Some of the comments online towards him and also at games is just borderline bullying now.

They will be trying to get him on the cheap. They know we need to sell him as he won't get back in, in spite of the occasional top class performance. We just couldn't afford his errors, which were when everything was still possible and we could've stayed up. For Brighton away, see Brentford (a) we were 2 - 0 up/Man City (a) - we were 1 - 0 up. That Italian league is nothing like as hard and unforgiving as the Premier League. And we have to get the best transfer fee we can.

Problem is we saw him as a failure, and he never fitted in with the culture, always being on his own. Maybe you can get away with being like that in Italy, but it won't work here. Sell him.

Billm - nothing to do with the way the club is run. More to do with the boo boys forcing him out. Keepers make mistakes especially when they aren’t familiar with the back line or have a settled defense. The boos in the pre season friendly against Colchester were disgusting. Like I said our boo boys forced him out, like they wanted to do with McKenna a couple weeks/months ago. They are a hard bunch to please.
