Town Launch New Kits
at 09:06:34

I think the home shirt is great, will look better in reality, as collar detailing not coming out in photos (better photo in store, see below). Away for me is the missed opportunity, but great to get Orange back. And it's a great retro nod to the glorious Burley premiership promotion season.

Former Boss McCarthy Leaves Ireland Job
at 00:54:47

The comments section of this article kind of sum why Mick HAD to go.

Yes Mick did well to keep us up.

With some backing from Marcus he got a team together that worried the play-offs, but let's be clear our system and style never really threatened Norwich in that semi, it was all huff and puff with no depth or real craft.

When Mick did try to take the shackles off we got found out and we retrenched, players were encouraged to play within themselves (several have now admitted this) and the footballing product just got so woeful. Then it was just poisonous in the stands.

Mick should have come in for a short period, then with some good advice Marcus should have got a technical team together - a quality manager/coach and we should have progressed yet he stuck with Mick.

There is no way Mick was ever going to progress, so had to be swapped out. His replacement was the issue.

Why are we still debating this? Some of you need a time machine to go back to the North Stand and the performance on the pitch in Ickes last game.

Desperately need this player back. Big cause of our current problems. I do fear this sounds like Feb/March for a return.

McCarthy: Harsh Red Card Changed Game
at 18:31:21

Sorry Mick from the refs position he's probably not being that harsh. Please get back to the training ground and think about the best way to get the best out of Sears and Fraser, and how best to use hyam, skuse and bru, with the emphasis on bru. February looks tough.

McGoldrick Set for Place on Bench

We need you - but don't rush it David.

Ah yes the 0-0 Blackpool 'stalemate', memories of the dross of games that made up last season.... god it was terrible at times. Please play better this term Mick.

Fulham Game a Big Step Up for McGoldrick
at 09:53:33

Don't play McGoldrick against Fulham Mick. Give him as much time as possible to get fully fit. The squad is weak in an attacking sense, and a season without McGoldrick will be dull I'm afraid

Doherty Joins Limerick
at 22:24:16

Hi Marcus - I was about to delete 'flop spectacularly'. But if you think back he was heralded on arrival. The provider of width, deliverer of consistent service, a reliable JET.

He just couldn't beat 'the man' his confidence was shot from very early on. You elude to the fit used but he had to tuck in. What to support 2 defensive midfielders who rarely broke forward, and a very defensive right back.

I watched 4 or 5 performances where the town shape was begging for him to get to the by line.

So yes a big flop.

However, I have a sneaky suspicion he might do allright this term. He's a confidence player.

Doherty Joins Limerick
at 21:46:42

Alas another 'punt' that has not paid off. Albeit he was a youth. As long as we get, I guess, 2 in 5 of these no fee (unproven at this level) gambles to pay-off, maybe its a strategy that can work. Certainly the youth strategy has taken a blow with the academy, so this is what we're left with on our meagre budgets. Wordsworth, Veseli, Nouble, Doherty haven't worked out. I think Mings is more in the youth category, but may come good.

If you think about our expected starting line-up

Gerken
Chambers, Berra, Smith, Parr
Anderson Hyam Skuse Stewart
Murphy McGoldrick

Apart from our 2 youth product these are all 'proven' players who we've paid higher wages for. Albeit Anderson flopped spectacularly. None of the 'punts' sighted above apart from Henshall and perhaps Hewitt are knocking on the door of the first team (Hewitt was at least playing regular football albeit at a lower level).

Now add Bru and Bajner.

We do need to wake-up to the fact you need to bring in players who have truly performed, the punts do not a promotion team make.

As for Hunt and Tabb, proven, but in their prime 5 years ago. Now taking valuable dressing room real estate.

Taylor Impresses for Posh
at 00:15:43

Why isn't he playing for us? Its taken him 2 starts to turn in a MOM performance. He could have had 2 starts with us. He should be starting ahead of Anderson, who although scoring today, I was told was poor.

As posted earlier, how we reintegrate Taylor and make him a success at Ipswich is a massive test for Mick and Terry.

We've all seen how good Taylor is.

The TWTD Banner Vote
at 21:36:31

I think this is just a great idea... BUT! Not sure any of these work due to scale. You need a metre tall letter to be visible to the away fans - as an example. So this is a 5 metre by 25 metre banner!

And again the faces will get lost unless on great scale.

Check the Man U banner below - ive seen this and yes obviously old Trafford is larger, but my point is the letters are just visible at a meter tall, but giggs face is a blob only.

Yes what did happen to Wordsworth?! and how bad is Cresswell (he's had a stop start pre-season, lot of pressure on Mings if he starts at Reading - may mean Tabb sits deeper)

New Wolves Boss Wants to Keep Stearman
at 10:40:56

I think Hewitt is good enough.... and I want to see him play. We will have a failry workmanlike midfield in Tabb, Hyam and Skuse. So some attach from the full backs is important. Which Hewitt is far better as than Stearman. I think we'll see another CB as cover who can also be a right back.
