What a load of pessimists some of you lot are!

Norwich only managed a draw at home yesterday to a team lower than them and that was by a lucky goal 6 minutes into injury time.

I, for one, am looking forward to the game. The atmosphere will be great and we can win it!

Theirs are w4:d3:l1
Last 8 derbies are: Ipswich 0: draw 3: Norwich 5

I'd love a win, but can't actually see it happening.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I want a win for nothing else but for the reason it's my little lads first ever match!

I make plenty of noise at the game, cheers. I don't sit at football either.

Enjoy sitting in with your yellow friends next week mate, you'll fit in better with them.

they'll certainly make more noise and enjoy a goal or two, unfortunately they wouldn't allow me to move my ST seat to the away section.

That loss at Palace with the kids definitely has a bearing on how we'll do next week, absolutely.

If we'd have won I would have included it. It doesn't change the overall picture that we look weak going in. I know it's tough to admit that though. I love the baseless optimism but it's completely unfounded. I'd love us to win, but it looks unlikely.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I feel for you that that is all you have to back up big Mick up with, from all those stats infront of you here, you pick that

We've won 6 from 11, we're second top scorers in the league. We've won 4 at home, which is the second highest number of home wins in the league. It's easy to cherry pick stats to suit your argument. The players will be going in believing we can win, I see it is a winnable game, I'm not going to spend all week sobbing into my One Direction duvet because I've convinced myself we have no chance of beating a side one point above us in the league.

I actually think we look more evenly matched going into this game than we have for several years, and we've drawn a few of those.

I don't think a little optimism is baseless or unfounded - this is a close league and we really could win next week.

Previous derbies are not very relevant (different squads, different seasons).

The six teams we've lost to were in 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 14th and the Premier League.

The four teams Norwich has beaten were in 3rd (by all accounts, an utterly defensive performance), 11th, 20th and 21st.

They're no better than us - and at least Ipswich weren't thumped by Sunderland or Millwall.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Herbivore is a Norwich fan pure and simple. There is no other explanation of how he could be so positive and enjoying what has been happening at Ipswich Town for the last several years. (and several years is being generous).

I was going to say you'd be better off spending the tenner on a pint and a pie but then remembered you won't be able to get to the bar and they'll have run out of pies anyway, and probably what drink you fancied, so a wildly optimistic punt on Town is in fact the better bet. Good luck :)

not a single bit of that makes any sense. the previous derbies are relevant, bragging rights and the fans confidence levels.

the six teams we've lost to have all been above us I believe, so with that in mind Norwich are now above us....

norwichs win vs the team 3rd doesn't count because it was defensive, yet if mick done that yesterday he'd have been a hero, tactical genius

they are better than us, best we can hope for is a draw, and even that is a waste of time.

being thumbed by teams its an issue if theres a bigger picture, they seem to be putting a plan into place and its starting to work for them. they are on a good run, we are on a sht run

football cliche 101, form goes out the window for a local derby...stats are there to be broken...we are due a win against them.

look be as negative as you like, pessimists are never disappointed, but the reason we all love football is that we always believe there is a chance to win.
