Damn. Should've seen that coming.

Did Yorkshire puddings exist in your day Factors, out of interest?

Or even Yorkshire for that matter.

The only thing that separates you and Bloo is he prefers marmalade.

You may wanna dwell on that.

My missus has stupid rules like no Yorkies with chicken, no stuffing with beef - it's an outrage. Yorkies and stuffing should be compulsory with any roast!

My father's family were from the North Lincs/Yorkshire area.

It's jam. Marmalade is for toast, and toast alone.

I'll just put a couple of alternative views out there. Personally I think they're ok with any roast dinner and, of course, toad in the hole

"Yorkshire pudding with golden syrup and cream (cold and clotted, for preference) is one of the finest puddings known to Englishman"

"Yorkshire puddings should never be served WITH anything except for gravy (and perhaps occasionally a sausage if you are making toad in the hole). Putting them on the plate with the roast is a bizarre southern aberration."

I was at a carvery in Leeds recently and all the local Yorkies had a pud' on their plate, regardless of the meat they had chosen.

I reckon we should sack the manager every time we lose a game

I'm with you.

In fact, cranberry, apple sauce....

Pretty much anything that will fit on the plate.

(Or apparently, if it won't fit on the plate, you can reinvent it as some starter or even a dessert).
