Who thought we'd be 12th in the league in January at the start of this season. I had us at just above the the drop zone.

Well at the moment we are heading that way, rather then up.

We're heading for about 66 points at the moment. If form doesn't fluctuate that much it seems about right. Should put us well inside the top half and at best a couple of places shy of the top six.

Given the experts proclaiming we were going down this season it's yet more evidence of how good a manager we have relative to our chairman/spending.

The majority of TWTD users if you check out the poll Phil ran at the start of the season.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

I would expect us to finish around 15th, which is a few places above expectation.

About right. Below average side. Below average league position.

We'll have to find those threads at the end of the season where people called us mugs. Even my West Ham bet is looking a hell of a lot better. Leyton Orient still crap though.

Indeed

Plenty of time for a Town meltdown yet thlugh. One of my bets had Town Top Half, Swindon Top Half and Charlton Top Half plus a 1-2-3 in any order of Man City, Man United and Chelsea. Small stake trebles and four fold to return £150.

The £5 free bet I put up on that thread is being let down by West Brom Top Half atm. That’s for £998.

As you say, we took plenty of stick on those threads so it will be nice to bump them at the end of the season.

I'm somewhat surprised we're punching 3 places above our preferred level.

I suppose mid table is what I'd have predicted. But the false dawn at the start was a bit of a tease and gave us hope. It's always the hope that gets you.

Have you booked a hall up yet for the mid table party?

Now i find this interesting.

Last year i found thanks to the good peple of TWTD that we have a 'upper mid table' and a 'lower mid table' so is 12th mid table?

There are 24 teams in this league sitting in 12th must be slap bang average?

Exactly 12th maybe not but I would have anticipated a mid table place at the 1/2 way point.
Maybe a bit lower at the end of the season given how MM's teams seem to fade a bit after NY.

In a 24 team league it is the definitive average position

In the 38 games in which ALB played in goal for us, we averaged 1.53 points per game which, had they been over the course of a single season, would have seen us challenging for the play offs. This at a time when we were otherwise struggling against relegation. Oh, and didn't Mick Mills have terrific posture.
