has more than doubled in the last eight years according to the BBC just now. I found that statistic quiet shocking. What are we becoming.

I wonder who would have a vested interest in claiming they are Momentum activists...

Not sure he has though this through.

2 posts.

One claiming one thing then another contradicting it, yet portrayed as though it was somehow qualifying the 1st.

Oh well.

It's all relative, but I guess access to basic medical care and the near eradication of starvation is progress.

Some might think not.

Rough sleeping was lead story on BBC again today. Quoting from their website ...

"The biggest rise in rough sleepers recorded by an individual council was the London borough of Camden, which saw its number jump to more than seven times the figure for the previous year, up from 17 to 127." It also says these figures are thought to be underestimates.

Perhaps my estimate of about 50 rough sleepers last summer kings cross / st Pancras / euston, and on the euston road in between (most of which comes under Camden) wasn't quite the "crock of s$&!" that some on here have suggested...

Firstly, you just said the bit "between kings cross & euston stations".

Secondly, that isn't the whole of Camden.

I stand by my "crock of s$&!" allegation, without going into the "it's Momentum in disguise" nonsense.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

That’s nonsense about baby boomers though. There was massive unemployment in the 80s and I don’t know anyone of that generation that didn’t have to scrape by all their working lives. Generation X is the one that bought houses for 50k which are now worth 400k

You are correct about massive unemployment in the 80's which contiued into the early 90's. between 1979 & 1996 the government chaned the way inwhich they counted unemployment 18 times & never once told the truth.
For any Brit the good times ended in the 70's
