If Sunderland are in talks, I expect he'll go there, nearer to Scotland, bigger club, great fanbase, easier task to get them promoted from L1 to make his name in English football. If I was in his shoes, I know who I'd pick as my first venture into English management.
Lampard, with the right backroom staff advising and assisting him, I feel could be a great choice. Well educated, played at the highest level and always seems very professional when doing punditry.
But, my money is on Hurst...

If that were to be the case, then he's probably not the man for us anyway.
He'll have a pretty limited career if he bases it on commuting distance from Scotland.

I personally don't get the infatuation with Ross. Yes he's had a promising start to his managerial career however there's no denying that the level in the Scottish Championship is very poor (I'd say lower League 1 to upper League 2).
I like the idea of Lampard as he's played under some of the greatest managers of the current era and being the smart lad he is there's no doubt he'd have picked up a few ideas.
There's also the fact that given our current financial situation we either need somebody who can pick up lower league gems for peanuts or use their contacts to get prem loans or decent bosmans. Lampard would have the obvious advantage for the latter.

When the Cowleys were mentioned, people said that it was too much of a jump in quality from League 2 to the Championship.
