I don't find it funny. However the hysteria over terrorism is somewhat misplaced. There are literally dozens of things more likely to kill you than a terrorist. You're more likely to be killed by a drunk driver or murdered by your partner than you are to be killed by a terrorist. Of course it'd be great to eradicate all terrorism but the lengths some of you rabid types are willing to go to are way out of kilter with the actual threat and your draconian proposals for dealing with terrorists are more likely to increase rather than reduce the threat.

Torture isn't just physical. Being locked in a room with absolutely nothing and given worse food (assume you mean nutritious but unpalatable) is mental torture. How long do you think you'd last in those circumstances? Presumably with minimal contact with other people.
