I'm off to the remotest pub on the UK mainland, thanks to your recommendation!
Booked flights to Glasgow, then train to Mallaig, and 4 days in a lovely little guesthouse by a loch. Then either hiking 17 miles to the pub or getting a boat taxi (depending on weather) on the day, for my first beer in a year. Should be fun! |  |

Seriously it won't be much warmer than 10-12 celcius in April. I've not been myself but it's supposed to be a lovely part of the world.
You should try and fit in a night in Glasgow or Edinburgh on the way back down. Both great cities for a night out with Edinburgh edging it for culture. | |

The walk-in to Knoydart is best from Glenfinnan station - if you do it, worth going up to Barrisdale Bay on the way and stopping a night there, either camping or at the bothy. The bunkhouse on Knoydart is really good as well and run by the excellent Knoydart Foundation. | | | |
