Worth reading just for the level of scorn even though no-one will learn anything new.

Always work backwards - who put her in to the position of PM? She was hardly an unknown quantity and should not shoulder all the blame. Responsibility lies with the whole Party going back before the referendum, they are the ones who elected her leader.

Err...and after Cameron resigned, who were the credible alternatives to May?

Nothing new in it, but it is a neat summary of why we are where we are.

An authoritarian without authority...ouch.

And yet she will probably survive for a while, yet another career politician in a world that really has no need of them. We will all carry on doing our own surviving as best we can.

It is a fascinating article, and deeply worrying for the future of our parliamentary system. I had never conceived that a rogue PM could do so much damage. I always assumed that there were enough checks and balances in the system.

It's a rogue PM plus the hagiographical status afforded to the referendum.

Like many demamgogues she has appropriated the "Will of the people" to mean exactly what she wants it to mean.

She's just ignoring the usual checks and balances. Parliamentary convention and defeated motions mean nothing to her.

Last night’s speech was appalling. She says she’s on the side of the people? Which people? We are a nation divided. We can’t agree on what is best so whose side is she on? She says we are fed up of political games, then plays a political game by blaming MPs and giving an ultimatum. May is a joke. She has been out of her depth for years. She has failed to deliver Brexit, entrenched divisions, and destroyed the public’s faith in our country’s democratic processes.
