I don't understand why people would want to do this 13:41 - May 20 with 966 views

Seems like they are basically doing it to get around any possible future gun controls (although they would seem unlikely in the US):

Making guns is relatively easy. The tricky bit is producing ammunition, which can't be 3D printed.

Attempting to fabricate home-made percussion caps (an essential part of cartriges) is liable to result in blowing yourself up, plus the chemicals involved are mostly toxic.

That's on top of having to build your own brass foundry.

Within the US you can buy 'most' (not all) ammunition without have a gun or firearm licence.

I'm talking about in a gun control environment. Why bother printing a gun currently in the US when it's relatively easy to buy one*?

* And much safer, given the relative strengths of metal and plastic with the forces involved.
