Sheepshanks and Burley have to take a large part of the blame getting us relegated after finishing 5th and spending millions we never had was both footballing and financial mismanagement at a level no other club has achieved and that was the start of this clubs decline.

I miss having a Board - things are no longer discussed, decisions are now made by an individual with no footballing nous instead of a team with individual and collective experience. Revealing that in the newspaper interview someone posted in another thread today, ME said in effect (not his exact words) that he found Boards annoying because they slowed things down, you couldn't get on with things as you wanted to, and he preferred being able to take snap decisions alone.

Well we got to 5th in the Prem with them. Of course they then made 2 big mistakes with the stand-building & breaking the wage stucture to bring Finidi & Sereni in. But ME as an individual shows no clue re how to get back to anything remotely approaching that level of footballing success. | |
