William Hill report people are betting on table tennis and German horse racing whilst the football is off.

Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess.

I am sure their knowledge of football in Belarus is second to none now.

Was a great opportunity in the first week of Belorussian football. A penalty taker had gone undetected by a certain bookie and duly notched at 22/1 for around 5k profit.

All I asked you to do was think about it, I didn't ask for such a pointed rehash of what I posted. I do think you have not stopped and considered the points I made, perhaps best to leave it there.

Eh? "Pointed rehash"? What? Sorry, but you posted your view, and I certainly did stop to consider your points, but they seemed just historical/technical to me rather than directly related to the thread discussion. I then posted my reply, politely. Really don't understand what you're obviously irked about.

All Ryorry said was that your money is at risk in the stockmarket as well as when you bet. That is a fact. Your added context (which no one is denying) doesn't change that.

Truly impaired.

Quite. And apart from a few individuals who might want to back their relatives' or friends' businesses, I don't know a single person who plays the stockmarket for anything other than financial gain (I specifically excluded pension funds and large corporations).

I mean even if you wanted to back a noble venture such as renewables research, you wouldn't do it if you were certain you were going to lose your whole stake (unless I suppose it were a small amount that you didn't need, or you had a few squillion standing around doing nothing & you could afford to lose some of that).

How weird - why is a thread that had its last reply over 2 months ago currently on p1 of the forum? Poltergeists?! 🤔

There was a post on it from a poster I didn't recognise earlier, he said something along the lines of "thanks for the hash tag" in response to someone writting "#saveRommyandJ2" or something similar.

Someone then responded inquisitively and that's the last I saw...

Nothing to do with me.

Sorry if that came across that I was insinuating that it did, that wasn't my intention, just reporting what I saw.

Wish I could remember the random username now, it read like a name, think initials were DB? I dunno. All a bit odd.
